| The airport fire department is an important emergency support department for the safe operation of civil airports.As the leader of the fire department in civil airport,the competency level of fire commanders has an important impact on the implementation of the aircraft emergency rescue operation.Besides,personality traits are closely related to their performance.In order to improve the security capability of the airport fire department and provide suggestion for the selection and evaluation of airport fire commanders.It is necessary to study the relationship between personality traits and competency.Based on the literature reviews and expert review,the five dimensions of fire commanders’ personality traits were determined,including extroversion,conscientiousness,pleasantness,openness,and neuroticism.Based on the questionnaires and literature reviews,the 19 factors of competency were determined.Then exploratory factor analysis was used to extract four factors,including rescue command capability,business skills,work management ability and situational awareness.Based on the personality traits and competency indicators,the hypothesis model was constructed.Then use the structural equation model to verify the hypothetical modelThe results show that,the hypothesis model and the questionnaire data had a good level of fitness.It means that openness has a positive impact on the fire commander’s competency;conscientiousness has a positive impact on the fire commander’s competency;the extraversion personality trait has a positive impact on the fire commander’s competency;Personality has a positive impact on the fire commander’s competency;Neurotic personality traits have no significant positive impact on fire commander competency.Business ability,situational awareness,rescue command capability and work management ability all have a positive impact on the airport fire commander’s competency,and the degree of influence is gradually weakened. |
