From "Object" To "Mind"-Study On The Conversion Of Local Expressive Paradigm Of Architecture

Architectural locality has always been a very important and heated topic.With the development of the times and society,the local expression paradigm of architecture presented by contemporary Chinese architects has changed greatly compared with the past.The architectural locality presented in many works has changed from the imitation and deduction of traditional images to the expression of the architect's mind.The process of this transformation can be summarized in four words: “From ‘Object'to ‘Mind'”.This thesis studies the transformation process from "object" to "mind" from "internal cause" and "external expression" in order to find out the new thinking and creative way of contemporary Chinese architects for the locality of architecture.In view of the "internal causes" of the transformation,the author summarizes the law of the development of the architectural locality thought by combing the two development veins of the western and Chinese thoughts on the architectural locality in history,and combines it with the background of the times,in order to analyze the deep reasons for the transformation of the architectural locality expression paradigm.In view of the "external performance" of the transformation,five architects,Hua Tang and Jia kun Liu after 50,Hao bo Wei and Li Hua after 80,Jia Jing after 80,and their works were both selected as the research objects.Through the study of their whole architectural creation process,personal growth environment and educational background,Ideological expression and working methods,and combined with philosophical speculation,textual intensive reading,phenomenal observation,deductive induction and other research methods,this paper attempts to explore the different understanding and creative ideas of each architect and architect of each era about the locality of architecture.Although the five architects' architectural local expression paradigms differ from each other due to the differences of their ideas behind them,they also show some commonalities of local concepts.These local understanding of architecture constitute the value field of contemporary Chinese architects' local creation.These common concepts or trends constitute a clear boundary of that field,in which each architect's unique and brilliant expression of the local characteristics of architecture.
