Cyclone separator is an important gas-solid separation equipment,which is commonly used in industrial production.High-performance cyclone separators are of great significance for energy conservation,emission reduction and environmental protection.The most important indicators for measuring cyclone performance are efficiency and pressure drop.Increasing efficiency and reducing pressure drop have been a large number of scholars' optimization goals for cyclones.However,the efficiency and pressure drop are coupled with each other.At the same time,the pressure drop will increase as the efficiency increases.Conversely,reducing the pressure drop will generally result in a decrease in efficiency.This paper first studied and designed two new types of cyclone separators,the “divided inlet progressive exhauster type cyclone separator”(referred to as GE type)and “divided inlet splitter and exhaust type cyclone separator”(referred to as SE type).GE-and SE-type separators are based on the standard PV-type,improved exhaust pipe structure,inlet structure,cylinder cone height and hopper structure.Then,in comparison with the standard PV type parallel test under different sizes,it was verified that both the GE type and the SE type can significantly reduce the pressure drop and achieve the purpose of energy conservation and emission reduction while ensuring efficient separation.In order to objectively characterize the separation performance of the new cyclone separator,the equivalent settling velocity particle size was used to unify the effect of different kinds of non-spherical particles on the particle size efficiency.Then,in order to explore the advantages of high efficiency and low resistance of the new structure,the internal flow field of the cyclone separator was compared.Compared with the standard type,the new type has a lower internal tangential speed,the inner and outer vortex flow dividing radius increases,and the central axial speed decreases.Finally,a new cyclone separator performance calculation method was proposed.The drag coefficient was calculated using the modified ESD pressure drop model,the drag coefficient of the new cyclone separator was accurately calculated,and the local drag coefficient of each segment was studied.The CAMS model was used to calculate the particle size efficiency,and the concept of equivalent sedimentation velocity particle size was applied.The particle size efficiency of different particles was unified,and the particle size efficiency was more scientifically calculated.
