It is necessary to set the steam separator at the inlet of the saturated steam turbine in order to avoid droplets in the saturated steam entering the steam turbine,which will cause water erosion of the high speed rotating rotor blades.The steam separator is used to separate the droplets in the saturated steam to avoid the water erosion of the turbine and make the turbine to run safer.Since saturated steam turbines often face problems of off-design conditions,such as changes in inlet steam flow or changes in inlet steam humidity,it is important to understand the performance of the steam separator.The performance of the device under off-design conditions becomes extremely urgent.In this paper,the theoretical calculation method of the separation efficiency and pressure drop of the cyclone separator based on the muschelknautz model is used to calculate the model of the steam water separator in this paper.The corresponding separation efficiency and pressure loss are calculated under different droplet size,different inlet steam humidity and different inlet steam flow rate,and their laws are summarized and analyzed.After modeled by Solidworks,meshed by ICEM,grid-independent verification was performed.After that the steam separator was simulated by Fluent.In this paper,the separation efficiency and pressure drop characteristics of the steam separator are studied under different flow rates,different humidity,and different droplet diameters,and the data are numerically analyzed and plotted.Then summarizing its law and analyzing the reasons.The data obtained by FEA can be used as the data source of the performance curve of the cyclone separator,especially in the case of variable working conditions.With these data,it can be used as the basis for selection.It has important significance for the water erosion prevention and safe operation in the entire steam turbine system.
