With the development of the construction industry,the improvement of the work efficiency in the design stage has become an urgent problem to be solved.Building information model(BIM)provides a direction to solve this problem.BIM-based collaborative design is the core application of BIM in design stage,which can effectively improve the quality of design results,but greatly increase the design time.However,the design time given by the owner is usually short.The related studies have mainly focused on BIM,ignoring other factors that affect work efficiency.Therefore,to systematically study the influencing factors of team work efficiency and the mechanism of influencing factors on work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design is of great significance to promote the application of BIM-based collaborative design in the design stage.Firstly,the application of BIM-based collaborative design in design institute in Shenzhen was investigated and analyzed to define the research object and define team work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design.Secondly,the input elements of team work were identified based on total quality management(TQM)in BIM-based collaborative design.And according to the the characteristics of collaborative process,the initial influence mechanism model of team work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design was established based on input-process-output(I-P-O)model.Then,after making the questionnaire by literature research,field observation and expert interview and collecting samples,the influencing factors,process factors and result factors in the initial influence mechanism model were determined by exploratory factor analysis(EFA),reliability test and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA).And one-way ANOVA was used to analyze the perceived differences of collaborators on influencing factors.Finally,the initial influence mechanism model was adjusted according to the connotation of factors and empirical analysis was carried out based on structural equation model(SEM).Based on the results of empirical analysis and one-way ANOVA analysis,some suggestions were put forward to improve team work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design.The empirical results are as follows.Firstly,according to the effect value of team work efficiency,five influencing factors are sorted as follows: team cooperation atmosphere,collaborators' learning ability,working environment,BIM-based software function and design task.Among them,team cooperation atmosphere,collaborators' learning ability,air quality,reducing the number of times to extract data of BIM-based software and the clarity of design task are the most important indicators to influence work efficiency.Secondly,according to the effect value of individual work process,influencing factors are sorted as follows: team cooperation atmosphere,BIM-based software function,collaborators' learning ability and working environment.According to the effect value of team interaction process,influencing factors are sorted as follows: design task,working environment,team cooperation atmosphere and collaborators' learning ability.Thirdly,the three main paths influencing work efficiency are sorted as follows: team cooperation atmosphere through individual work process to influence team work efficiency,BIM-based software function through individual work process to influence team work efficiency,collaborators' learning ability through individual work process to influence team work efficiency.The related studies have mainly focused on BIM,but this paper has combined theoretical research and empirical analysis from the team perspective and has established an influence mechanism model of team work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design,which can be used as theoretical basis for evaluating or improving team work efficiency in BIM-based collaborative design.
