The study of indoor thermal environment of building can provide guidance for standard formulation of thermal design of the buildings, and have great significance for comfortable and energy-saving buildings. The thermal environment is poor in summer in the cold area. However, most of the current researches tend to focus on thermal insulation in winter and have less involved in the appropriate thermal protection measures in summer in cold regions. However, the climate characteristics, architectural features and resident habits are not exactly the same because of the different regions in cold regions, which have also a big difference between indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort index of the residents. The village of Guitun of northern rural areas of Henan was selected as the research object. This paper selects representative buildings for testing and uses field objective test, subjective questionnaire survey and software simulation analysis method for objective and subjective evaluation on the indoor thermal environment of rural North Henan plain. The rural residential area is studied indoor temperature and humidity distribution in winter and summer. The influence of building space combination, enclosure structure, solar energy and other factors are analyzed on indoor temperature.(1)Based on the layout of residential space, the basic information of enclosure structure, the indoor thermal environment parameters were tested in winter and summer, the factors which affected the indoor thermal environment of the building were analyzed. The results show that the indoor thermal environment of masonry and adobe building could not meet the provisions of Chinese standard limit value in summer and winter. The results show the formation of the southern corridor has a retarding effect on the outdoor air temperature, and that around design of main functional rooms is beneficial to indoor thermal insulation in winter, but it affects indoor ventilation in summer.Heat insulation and thermal insulation of the new brick concrete building roof is poor. The thermal environment of the top floor is deteriorating.(2)The indoor thermal environment of typical buildings is selected for subjective evaluation for thermal comfort of the residents studied. The results show that the acceptable temperature limit of interviewees is 8.9~? in winter, and the acceptable temperature of the respondents in is 29.7~? in summer.Comparing the temperature distribution of the typical buildings with the acceptable temperature range of the interviewees, the indoor thermal environment of buildings generally failed to meet the thermal comfort requirements of the interviewees in winter and summer, and respondents of the summer showed discomfort frequencies, which are higher than the winter.(3)The improvement strategy of indoor thermal environment design is proposed, which bases on the hourly test and evaluation of indoor thermal environment parameters and combines with the theory of architectural technology. The design strategy is the strategy of natural ventilation, thermal performance of enclosure structure, solar energy utilization and sun shading design.Design strategy of the natural ventilation applys Autodesk CFD for simulation and analysis. The effects of wall, roof, window and other thermal properties are analyzed by Ecotect simulation software on indoor air temperature. This study can provide more accurate parameters of indoor thermal environment design index for Northern Henan plain rural building. The data basis and theoretical preparation are provided for the compilation and revision of the thermal design code and the standards for the design of building energy conservation.
