Traffic Simulation And Optimization Of Signalized Intersection With Work Zone | | Posted on:2020-06-11 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:G Su | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2392330599975060 | Subject:Transportation engineering | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | In recent years,with the acceleration of urbanization and the increase in infrastructure construction and maintenance,urban road construction has become widespread and normalized.As important junctions in the urban transportation network,the intersections are the throat of the urban road transportation system.The setting of the work zone in the intersections makes the inadequate traffic capacity of intersections suffer more traffic pressure and aggravates the traffic congestion of urban roads.Due to the change of traffic flow characteristics at the intersection with work zone set up,researches on the signal optimization modeling of the signal intersection with work zone becomes more difficult.Most current researches of work zone are concentrated on expressways.The researches on work zone of urban road are less and mostly on the work zone of road sections.The research objects are mostly traffic flow modeling and characteristic simulation,and a small amount of researches on signal optimization of intersection with work zone are also focused on expressway.Because of the existence of work zone in the intersection,the interference between vehicles increases.The vehicle does not have invisible lane division and the driving boundary is irregular,etc.It is difficult to model the vehicle motion rules according to the micro models of vehicle following and lane-changing models,and to optimize the signal of signalized intersection with work zone based on micro traffic flow model.In this paper,signal optimization research and optimization simulation are carried out for the signalized intersections with two types of work zones,namely island work zone and heterogeneous work zone.By analyzing the movement characteristics of the traffic flow affected by work zone at the intersection entrance,and using the traffic wave model and the delay model of the vehicle arrival and departure curve,the signal optimization model suitable for the signal intersection with work zone is established.The existing social force model for traffic flow is improved,and a more perfect simulation platform for signal intersection with work zone is built.The actual traffic flow data collected is used to calibrate and verify the parameters of the social force model,and the calibrated parameters were used to simulate and evaluate the improvement effect of signal optimization and the intersection channelization.Through the research,we get the following conclusions: the average absolute relative error value of each variable in the calibration and verification of the social force model for traffic flow is less than 15%,which proves that the social force model for traffic flow has good applicability.The traffic simulation of signal optimization for the signalized intersections with two types of work zones shows that the total traffic capacity of signalized intersections with the two types of work zones has increased by 9.18% and 16.60% respectively,indicating that the proposed signal optimization model has certain optimization effects and can provide some reference value for signal optimization for signalized intersections with work zone in the future. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Signalized intersection, Work zone, Social force model, signal optimization, traffic simulation, traffic capacity | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
