Since the reform and opening up,construction industry,the most important factor in the value chain of the infrastructure construction and real estate industry,has become an important engine of China’s economy because of the booming of infrastructure construction and the development of real estate industry in China.However,throughout the 40 years of reform and opening up,low production efficiency and extensive production and operation has always been problems of the construction industry in China.Therefore,it is imperative to carry out lean management in the construction industry.In lean management for construction industry,an important link of cost reduction and efficiency increase is inventory management.The inventory management of raw materials and finished products can effectively reduce the unit energy consumption of the construction industry and reduce the total cost of the enterprise.At the same time,most of construction projects have the characteristics of short-term,local and high personnel mobility.To avoid increasing management costs significantly,such project departments are not suitable for the use of complex and expensive professional ERP management system,nor for the large increase of staffing,to establish a strict and systematic inventory management and data supervision organization structure.Instead,they should use Simplified Inventory Management System with less staff adjustment and low-cost tools.In order to study the inventory management cost optimization of the project Department of the construction industry,we chose the BS Metro segment project department,which is a representative of the Metro segment production field as target department.We conduct research and obtain the original data through data collection,personnel interviews and other ways.We classify and comb the characteristics of the raw materials of the project department,correct the standard EOQ model according to the characteristics of different raw materials,and calculate the most consistent target materials the economic order quantity,safety stock and supply chain coordination method.After we have calculated the EOQ and safety stock quality,we can design the inventory optimization scheme,then we compare the inventory cost data before and after optimization to decide whether the method is effective.Through data analysis,the following results are achieved in this study:order placement is changed from subjective decision-making of inventory management personnel to quantitative scientific decision-making,which reduces order frequency and order cost;scientific and effective reorder point is established,which ensures that the enterprise has safety stock meeting abnormal conditions at all times,and prevents the risk of out of stock and production halt;coordination with the supplier’s supply chain is realized,which makes it possible to The inventory cost of the enterprise is optimized,and the additional benefit of reducing the order unit price is realized.This study proves that the simplified inventory management method based on the EOQ model is suitable for projects with short construction period,strong temporary and stable production.It can effectively reduce the project inventory management cost without adding additional personnel and purchasing expensive professional construction information software.The method can be effectively promoted and implemented in the construction industry to improve the lean management effect of the whole construction industry.
