Manufacturing industry is the pillar industry of the national economy.With the deepening of economic globalization and the intensification of market competition,modern manufacturing is facing an increasingly severe situation.The automobile industry is also called "industry in industry".As an important part of the national economy,the automobile industry is a highly integrated industry.Its upstream industries include almost all manufacturing sectors,including electronics,chemical industry,and metallurgy.The automotive market in the recent two years has been in a period of great challenges and shocks,with frequent market policies releasing and a sudden decline appearing in sales.The automotive market has experienced its first negative growth since 1990.At the same time,consumer demand for automobiles is becoming increasingly diverse and personalized.Therefore,the mixed-line production lines have replaced the traditional single-stream mass production,which has become the norm phenomenon for various vehicle manufacturing companies.CJLR is a large-scale joint venture automobile production company.The company has a strong production capacity.As consumers’ demand for automobiles becomes more diversified and individualized,it also brings great challenges to CJLR.With the development of the company,more and more models are produced online,and more and more problems are exposed to the company’s inventory management.In this thesis,we mainly take the inventory of the assembly line of the assembly shop of CJLR as the research object,and verify the feasibility of the scheme from the aspects of the prototype car scheme,sorting area,material arrangement,loading route,and replenishment route.The main purpose of the thesis is to build an effective line-side parts inventory management system that tends to the "zero inventory".The thesis first introduces the status of inventory management.And on this basis,it analyzes and summarizes the four major problems in the lean inventory management of online parts and components;Uncertainty of responsibilities in the management,large inventory of enterprises,and lack of awareness of collaboration with suppliers.Aiming at the problems of CJLR automobile company’s inventory management,the company adopts different lean library management strategies to improve it,making the enterprise inventory management more scientific.Finally,combined with the concept of inventory management in the supply chain environment,from the two aspects of internal inventory control and external inventory management,a lean plan was proposed and solutions were put forward,including improving the inventory management organization and functional positioning,improving the regularity of parts consumption demand,In terms of improving inventory classification management methods,adopting targeted inventory management methods and creating virtual joint inventory management models,Based on the lean inventory theory,Land Rover’s optimization of line-side inventory management provides some reference for other auto OEMs,4-5 models of common line production and capacity improvement.
