This thesis mainly studies applying several antennas to airport runway foreign body detection radars.The millimeter wave radar system has been selected as the airport runway foreign object detection radar due to its small size,wide frequency bandwidth and high precision.An excellent antenna plays an important role in improving radar performance.This thesis focuses on selecting an optimal antenna type and design scheme for airport runway radar.In W-band high-gain antenna,the gain can be improved by array or reflection.Due to the limitation of processing accuracy,the reflective transmission surface antenna is often extremely expensive to process,so this thesis will focuses on the planar antenna array.The proposal consists of waveguide narrow-side slot array,radial slot array(RLSA)and corporate-Feed horn array.This thesis will elaborates the research background and significance of FOD(Foreign Object Debris)in airport runway,and collecting relevant data from the development history and development status at home and abroad,analyzing the indicators of the designed antennas with reference to the specifications of each product and airport demand.Among the selected antenna schemes,the narrow-side slot array of waveguide is expanded from linear array to planar array,using bulkhead can reduce cross polarization,meanwhile,bulkhead is a linking structure.Radial slot antenna is designed by using MATLAB and HFSS joint programming technology,which greatly simplified the process of design and reduced the difficulty of modeling.Two feed network designs are used in the corporate-Feed hord antenna,Reduced model size and improved antenna performance.In this thesis,the optimal antenna scheme for airport runway radar is selected from many aspects,it will consider the manufacturing cost,the processing difficulty,the antenna size,the antenna performance and so on.
