The Ying garden is located in the southern end of Long Island beside the river protecting the city outside the ancient city wall of Yangzhou.It is the private residence garden of Zheng Yuanxun during chongzhen's reign in the late Ming Dynasty.It is one of the four gardens of The Zheng brothers.The Ying garden was designed and built by Cheng Ji(gardener)and Yuanxun Zheng(owner of the garden).The great painter Dong Qichang named it.After its completion,it is famous for its three shadows(willow shadow,mountain shadow and water shadow),which is the best garden in Yangzhou.However,the garsden has been continuously destroyed due to the war,and today there are no relics left.Architecture is an important part of the overall environment of classical gardens,in which the timber frame structure is not only a unique skill of Chinese gardens,but also carries profound historical and cultural heritage.In recent years,in the restoration of ancient buildings,most of the historical buildings are inferred from a few words in some historical books,and the research and design contents are analyzed from the inside out,but the design specifications and appearance structure of buildings are ignored.Jiangnan garden in the Ming Dynasty is a mature period in the history of garden building in China.The Ying garden is a work designed for the mature stage of garden building skills.Many scholars have highly appraised the Ying garden.Its owner,Zheng Yuanxun,has profound literary attainments and has a profound understanding of the garden for appreciation.The spatial information depicted in his book is authoritative.Therefore,the restoration design of the Ying garden has certain reference value for studying the architectural features and construction methods of the private gardens in the he South of the Yangtze River in the Ming DynastyIn this paper,the internal architecture of Yangzhou Ying Garden is studied through Zheng Yuanxun's self-recording of the Ying garden.Based on the recording of the Ying garden,the spatial information of the garden is provided to rationalize the spatial layout of the internal architecture,in order to restore the scenes in the recording of the Yinggarden to the maximum extent,so that people can understand and appreciate the Ying garden more intuitively.The specific research contents are as follows.First,Through the analysis of relevant historical data,the historical background of the Ying garden was understood,and then the gardening techniques and architectural features ofthe Ming Dynasty were studied.In addition,the restoration cases were combined to analyze and summarize the methods and methodsSecond,According to the description of the Ying garden,the scope of the ruins of the Ying garden was determined and its spatial layout was studied.The textual research on the site and scale was carried out from the perspectives of spatial path and vision,and the artistic techniques of the Ying garden were analyzed from the four elements of the garden(plant architecture,rocks,water)Third,In combination with the practice of garden architecture in South China,the interior architecture of the Ying garden was restored respectively.With garden architecture examples of the same period as reference,the plane size and architectural structure of single buildings in the Ying garden were determined.After a brief analysis,the form of roof truss was determined to complete the preliminary architectural design and restoration design of architectural folding patterns.
