Research On Historical Spaces In The Protection Of Traditional Settlements

Composition,territory and distribution of historical spaces are the core values of traditional settlements,the basis of preservation,utilization and living continuity.Liantang Ancient City of Dingnan County,Jiangxi Province was the ancient county town from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China,which lost the county seat and degraded to a village in 1927 by the turmoil of city.Liantang Ancient City was included in the list of traditional Chinese villages in 2019.As one of the traditional villages in China,the value of research lies in:one,as a special village of the type of "remained county capitals" in traditional settlements;second,the urban spatial pattern and cultural heritage left in the ancient city.The dissertation sorts out the historical context and changes of the historical space of Liantang Ancient City through literature reading,site inspection,interviewing,surveying and summarizing.It also examines and studies the existing historical and cultural heritage,and proposes corresponding protection strategies for the current situation.The dissertation is divided into seven chapters for discussion.The first chapter is the introduction,which is an overview of the research background,meaning,objects,methods,and research status at home and abroad.The second chapter is the establishment of the spatial pattern of the ancient city,including the selection of the location and boundary of the ancient city,the spatial state before the construction of the city,and the formation of the basic spatial pattern after the construction of the city.The third chapter is the research on the space of the ancient streets and lanes,including the research on the location information of historical streets and lanes and the study of the spatial scale.The fourth chapter is the research on the characteristic historical space of the ancient city,including the location boundaries and historical information of important spaces in the government spaces,family spaces and public spaces.The fifth chapter is the decline of the spatial pattern of the ancient city,including the changes of the important historical spaces in the original city after the disintegration of the ancient city.The sixth chapter is the protection of the ancient city,which includes the protection methods and development strategies of the ancient city.The last chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes and prospects the full dissertation.Historical space is the carrier of the daily operation of traditional cities and villages.The research and excavation are of great significance to the protection and spread of Chinese historical and cultural heritage.
