| With the arrival of a new round of technological revolution in the world economy,developed countries have begun to implement the "post-industrialization" strategy to seize the heights of global manufacturing upgrading,China actively responded to the world manufacturing trend,put forward the "Made in China 2025" manufacturing power strategy,for the transformation and upgrading of China’s equipment manufacturing industry has brought significant opportunities.In the context of economic globalization,industrial agglomeration has become the new label for world economic development.The resulting increase in industrial competitiveness is an important path for manufacturing to upgrade.Further,today’s manufacturing industry can no longer rely on the external push of factor inputs,and must be driven by the inward push of technological innovation to upgrade China from a manufacture of quantity to one of quality.Therefore,"industrial clustering + technological innovation" industrial model is particularly important for China’s equipment manufacturing upgrading.This paper analyzes the impact of industrial agglomeration on equipment manufacturing upgrading when technological innovation is the mediating variable.Theoretically,the mechanism of the impact of industrial agglomeration on the upgrading of the equipment manufacturing industry is elaborated from two aspects,namely,direct and indirect impact,where the indirect impact is based on technological innovation as an intermediary variable,that is,industrial agglomeration affects the upgrading of the equipment manufacturing industry by influencing technological innovation.Empirically,the indicators of technological innovation,industrial agglomeration and equipment manufacturing upgrading were measured,and the results of the measurement were briefly analyzed.Then,based on the results of heteroskedasticity,autocorrelation and cross-sectional correlation,the feasibility generalized least squares(FGLS)method was finally chosen to test empirically the brokering effect in the equipment manufacturing industry for the whole industry and sub-sector.Through the above analysis,it can be concluded that industrial agglomeration of equipment manufacturing upgrading has a significant positive effect on the promotion of the positive phase,especially for capital-intensive and labor-intensive equipment manufacturing sub-sectors to promote a greater role.Technological innovation in industry clustering to promote equipment manufacturing industry-wide upgrading process played a 4.34%intermediary effect,for technology-intensive sub-sector upgrading,the intermediary effect increased to 8.27%.But overall,China’s equipment manufacturing industry,the weak capacity for independent innovation technology gap,making technological innovation did not play a good role in the potential intermediary promotion.Based on the above conclusions,we propose countermeasures such as accelerating the promotion of industrial agglomeration,increasing the investment in research and development and the introduction of high-level technical personnel,and focusing on the absorption of technology after its introduction and improving the capacity for independent innovation. |
