The 21 st century information age is the one of perception.As is once said by Li Lixin,the design in future will be sentimental,and its closest link Kansei engineering has become the currently hot area for studies.With the modern rehabilitation medicine and related technologies increasingly developed,the society has given more attention to the development of the handicapped career and aims to improve their life quality.For the physically disabled people,whose proportion to the people with disabilities increases day by day,the prosthetics products provided are manifold in function,and the children of the group are less likely to find such products.Hence,this thesis takes the lower limb prosthesis as the objective and gets down to the children's demand,combined with the trend of perceptional design and involved with Kansei engineering theories,studies the children's lower limb prosthesis.The thesis combs through the related theories of Kansei engineering,prosthesis,adaptable design,and product system design,analyzes the current study and limitations of prosthesis at home and abroad,discusses Kansei engineering's application in medical product design,and get the following general process of product system design and adaptation research combined with the product system design and adaptable design theories.It is mainly conducted through questionaire,dipping into the clients' problems and finding out the needs.The paper builds a spatial model of perceptual vocabulary image and product sample base of lower limp prosthesis by Kansei engineering model,which integrates the user requirements and product design elements respectively with the representative perceptual imagery vocabulary.Through semantic difference method that conducts rating of significance and quantitative statistical analysis,it has also built up user requirements model and product design factor model based on Kansei engineering.Further,it turns the clients' perceptual need to elements guiding the product design with the Kansei engineering assisting the product system design.At last,It proposes design strategy for the adaptation of lower limb prosthetic system and apply it to the product design and interaction design practices.This has pointed out the direction of combining the perceptual engineering and product system design and has done a rewarding try with the design theory research and product system development closely connected.
