Quantitative Study On The Plane Form Of Public Space In Traditional Rural Settlements

Settlements are places where people live,and rural settlements are places where people live in various forms in rural areas.The planar form of public space in rural settlements is an important part of the study of rural settlements,which can reflect the structure and order of settlements.This paper explores the quantitative method of the planar form of public space in settlements,aiming at providing quantifiable indicators for the characteristics of public space form in the process of construction of settlements,and providing effective theoretical and technical means for the organic renewal of traditional rural settlements in China in line with the sustainable development of rural areas.In the part of theoretical research and exploration,through the analysis and research of settlement public space theory,Axwoman,a plug-in of ArcGIS software,is used to generate the axis map of the planar form of settlement public space.Based on the axis,the settlement space is divided into residential areas,and with it as the research object,the planar form structure of settlement public space is analyzed.Then,the rhino plug-in grasshopper is used to program the smallest outer rectangle and the long axis of the rectangle to analyze the plane shape order of the settlement space.This paper divides the planar form of public space into two parts:the structure and order of the planar form of space,and obtains the quantitative index of the planar form of public settlement space.Based on the above theory,using quantitative indicators,computer programming and mathematical statistics,50 sample settlements were studied.Firstly,the axis of sample settlement public space is generated,and the basic unit of settlement is formed.Thirty quantitative indicators of settlement public space plane shape are calculated and mathematical statistics are made,and the characteristics of settlement public space plane shape are classified and summarized.It provides a theoretical basis for the organic renewal of the countryside.
