Tibet is located in the main part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. And Tibet lies at the core of the ecological security strategy pattern of “two screens and three belts”,which is an important ecological barrier of China, and it is of great significance to protect Tibet’s ecological security. In recent years,as the state attaches great importance to the development of Tibet, the rural construction in Tibet has seen a period of rapid development. But because oflack of scientific planning and guidance, the status quo of the “thousand village side”settlements are becoming more and more common, and Tibet’s culture and natural environment have been destroyed.Summarizing and distilling the natural “design logic” of traditional Tibetan settlements over the millennia are conducive to protecting the architectural and cultural features of Tibetan settlements, making the natural and human environment better suited to each other, and solving the problem of the current situation of newly built villages in Tibet. The first chapter mainly analyzes the background of the research object, collates the research progress of domestic and foreign scholars on the research object,so as to find the innovation point, research purpose and significance of their own research. The second is to clarify the scope of the study, tease out the framework of the whole study, and plan for the smooth progress of the follow-up study. In chapter one,the background and the research progress of domestic and foreign scholars of the research object are analyzed,so as to find the innovation, research purpose and significance. It is necessary to clarify the scope of the research, sort out the framework and make a plan for the smooth progress of subsequent work. The second chapter is the theoretical research part, firstly analyzes the main relevant concepts of this study, including the traditional settlement, spatial structure and other specific definitions in this study.Secondly, this paper analyzes the theoretical basis of the study, including the theory of habitat environment and quantitative analysis, and combs out the quantitative factors and indicators involved in the study,so as to pave the way for the establishment of the later research model.Chapter two is the theoretical research part.Firstly, the related concepts are identified, including the traditional settlement, spatial structure and other specific definitions.Secondly, the theoretical basis is analyzed, including the theory of habitat environment and quantitative analysis, and the quantitative factors and indicators involved is combed out,so as to pave the way for the establishment of the later research model. The third chapter mainly analyzes the overall situation of the rural settlement in the Zhikaze region, which is the object of the study.Firstly, the distribution of colonies was analyzed by nuclear density and proximity method: aggregation and elevation distribution.Secondly, the specific geographical features of the settlement are extracted and analyzed: slope, slope direction; Finally, based on macroscopic analysis, the settlement is divided into three types: steep mountain slope and gentle mountain slope. In chapter three, the overall situation of rural settlements in Xigaze region is discussed in the macro-level.The distribution of settlements on the plane was analyzed by nuclear density and proximity method as aggregation and elevation distribution. The specific geographical characteristics of the settlements location are extracted and analyzed as slope and slope direction.Based on the above macro-level analysis, the settlements can be divided into three types, the mountain steep slope, the mountain gentle slope and the peaceful settlement. The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the population from the meso level based on the theory model of human settlements environment.Firstly, according to the classification of the colonies in chapter 3,we use random stratification sampling to extract the colonies by type as the research sample. Then the spatial structure characteristics of the colonies were obtained by quantitative analysis using Arc GIS,BIGMAP and SPSS.In chapter four, the population is analyzed in the meso-level,based on the settlement theory model of human settlements and environment. In accordance with classification of settlements in chapter three, random stratification sampling is used to extract the settlements by types as research samples. Then the spatial structure characteristics of the settlements were obtained by quantitative analysis using Arc GIS,BIGMAP and SPSS.The fifth chapter, mainly based on the results of the analysis in the fourth chapter, integrates the elements for a comprehensive analysis.Firstly, the spatial structure characteristics of different types of aggregates are summed up by using classified scatter diagram and radar diagram. Then the correlation analysis of the quantitative index data of different factors is carried out to find out the interaction between the spatial structures of the colonies.Chapter five, based on the analysis results of chapter four, integrates various elements for a comprehensive analysis. The spatial structure characteristics of different settlement types are obtained by using classified scatter diagram and radar diagram. The correlation analysis of quantitative index data of different elements is carried out to find out the influence relationship between each spatial structure of settlements. The last part is the conclusion and prospect. This paper summarizes and combs the research results, gives the planning strategy of Tibetan settlement in Xigaze area, and puts forward the prospect of future research. In the conclusion and prospect chapter, the research results are summarized, the planning strategy of Tibetan settlements in Xigaze region is given, and the prospect of future research is put forward.
