Cylinder-supported reinforced concrete silos are large vertical containers for bulk materials.Silos are widely used in China’s grain storage,coal mines,thermal power generation,steel and other fields due to their less site area and large storage capacity.Group silos are the main form of cylinder-supported reinforced concrete silos.There are many earthquakes in China,and earthquakes are one of the main causes of silo damage,but there are few studies on the seismic resistance of cylinder-supported reinforced concrete silos in China.At present,the seismic design of cylinder-supported reinforced concrete silos is mainly based on the design of single silo.Most of the design process of the group silos is to conduct seismic design on the single silo first,and then connect the single silo according to the construction measures.During the design process of the group silos,the overall seismic design is not performed.In this paper,a large granary in Guangzhou is used as a prototype,and seismic time history analysis of slender single silo and slender group silos was carried out through finite element software ABAQUS.The research in this paper includes the following four parts:(1)The development of silos in China has been introduced.Since 2017,earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 or higher in China have been statistically summarized,the destruction of silos in earthquakes has been introduced,and the research status of silos has been introduced.The research content of this paper is the dynamic response of cylinder-supported reinforced concrete slender silo under earthquake.(2)A large-scale granary in Guangzhou was used as a prototype,and the finite element software ABAQUS was used to establish a model of a cylinder-supported reinforced concrete slender single silo and slender group silos.The modal analysis was carried out and the differences between the modalities were compared.(3)The theoretical methods commonly used in seismic analysis in China were introduced.The seismic waves were selected and amplitude-modulated.The calculation of the storage load was explained according to China’s specifications.The seismic time history analysis of the cylinder-supported reinforced concrete slender single silo under different working conditions was carried out.(4)The seismic time history analysis of the cylinder-supported reinforced concrete slender group silos under different working conditions was carried out.The dynamic response results of different positions of the slender group silos under different working conditions were compared separately.The dynamic response results of slender single silo and different positions of slender group silos under different working conditions were compared and analyzed.
