The Xiangshan Gang originated in the xiangshan area of ancient suzhou.After hundreds of years of development,it gradually grew and became a synonym for ancient gardens and architecture in Suzhou.The development process of its construction technology not only has the local characteristics,but also has the characteristics of multi-region mutual exchange and integration.At present,the research on suzhou xiangshan banbang gardens is mainly focused on the style and layout of the gardens,but rarely touches on the construction,and there is almost no research on the measurement tools used in the construction.The author thinks that the building tool is the foundation of the garden,and the measuring tool is the first to enter in all the garden building activities,and the square of the Xiangshan garden must be built on this basis.Therefore,it can be said that measuring tools and techniques are the source of the garden.Only by thoroughly understanding the source,can we have a deeper understanding of the river of style flowing out afterwards.This paper focuses on the evolution and inheritance of measurement tools and techniques in Xiangshan Gang construction.By combing the development process of measuring tools and technology in ancient China,this paper provides a large background and reference frame for the evolution process of measuring tools and technology in Xiangshan Gang.Then,in the process of the construction activities of xiangshan gang in Suzhou,the evolution process of the measurement tools and techniques used by Xiangshan Gang in past dynasties was explored through the research on the historical records of Xiangshan Gang in ancient times,such as the official operation and construction in 1u,the garden and the original construction method.For further research,the measuring tools and techniques are mainly divided into three parts,including directional leveling tools and techniques,Angle measuring tools and techniques,and length measuring tools and techniques.The characteristics and evolution process of each part are studied in order to clarify the evolution and development of Xiangshan Gang measurement tools and techniques.This paper further explores how to use all kinds of measuring tools in the specific construction process.Only in the actual construction activities can the real function and limitation of measuring tools be most clearly shown.Finally,through the investigation of modern Xiangshan Gang,this paper studies the inheritance and innovation of modern Xiangshan Gang in the measurement tools of the predecessors,and from the above to the modern period,to find the opportunity and context of its origin of modernization.Finally,Xiangshan Gang’s measuring tools and techniques from ancient to modern form a complete set of evolution,inheritance lineage.
