With the large-scale expansion of cities, the phenomenon of dislocation between occupation and living is becoming increasingly serious, the daily activity space of residents is rapidly enlarged, and the demand for motorized travel is increasing rapidly. The high-intensity use of cars has made urban traffic congestion more serious. As the constraints of land resources on urban development models gradually emerge, the planning of spatial elements is restricted, which has led more and more scholars to pay attention to the temporal elements and try to use the interaction between time and space to affect residents' urban space.Demand and utilization, which in turn changes residents' travel behavior choices.Activity space refers to the distribution in space of individuals arriving at the activity place within a period of time.It can be used as one of the expressions of residents' all-day activity-travel mode.It is not only based on the demand for urban space activities and travel, but also has time and space attributes,And it is an important factor influencing residents' travel behavior. Therefore,in recent years, related research on event space has gradually become a research hotspot in the field of urban and transportation planning. However, the existing paradigm of active space research still focuses on the spatial dimension, ignoring the consideration and adjustment of time elements and spatial structure. Therefore,in the analysis of traffic behavior and urban policy management, how to strengthen the study of the temporal elements and the correlation of time and space in the travel behavior of residents is a scientific problem currently facing.Based on the theory of temporal geography, this paper emphasizes the important role of the time dimension to individual behavior.By introducing the duration of the activity as a weight factor,a spatial-temporal center of gravity measurement model that integrates time and space elements is proposed. The concept of "degree" is used to quantify the spatial and temporal constraints and location dispersion of residents, and to conduct an empirical comparison with traditional spatial measurement methods.Second, using two measurement indicators, combined with the 2016 survey data of Kunming residents' travel, the four are refined.A typical activity-travel pattern, and analyzed the impact mechanism of the behavior pattern by using multiple Logit models. Finally, based on the previous research,a resident travel decision framework based on the activity space was constructed, and the activity space of residents in different regions was compared accordingly.Impact mechanism of interaction with travel behavior.Research results:(1)Activity space is shaped by two major elements, time and space. When the distance between the activity site and home is greater than 4km,the correction degree of the space-time offset to the space measurement reaches [5%?14%].It is speculated that with the gradual expansion of urban space, the phenomenon of residents moving out to new suburban cities increased, the separation of work and residence has become more and more serious, individuals are constrained by larger spaces, and the influence of time factors on the activity space has become more sensitive.(2)Using the two measurement indicators of expansion and deviation, four types of activity-travel modes, including low-cost survival type,low-cost life type,high-cost survival type, and high-cost life type, are extracted to reflect the different individuals' experience.Time use, space constraints and travel characteristics. The results of the model show that if the working hours of residents are reduced and the accessibility of public transportation at the place of employment is increased, the travel distance of residents can be reduced.(3)Take the workers in the new urban area and the old urban area as examples to further analyze the causal relationship between activity space and travel behavior. The results show that in the old city, residents usually live close to their jobs, are less constrained by fixed space, have more time flexibility and space choices, and the use of cars will lead to increased travel time for residents and expansion of activity space. In the new urban area, residents are relatively far away from their activities, which results in greater time and space constraints. Therefore,in order to complete daily activities, the expanded activity space will prompt residents to choose a car to travel.
