Research On The Facades Of Modern Commercial Buildings In Guangzhou Based On Prototype Theory

The development of Guangzhou’s modern commercial buildings gave a strong boost to the development of the city’s economy,trade and building form.Building forms not only show us the buildings’ modeling and decoration,but also reflect the city’s development history in modern times.This paper aims to study the facades of Guangzhou’s modern commercial buildings from the perspective of facade modeling features,complete the research framework of commercial building modeling and analyze the stage features of the city’s building modeling.This research selected western-style commercial buildings in Guangzhou as the research objects,studied them using the prototype theory in architecture and analyzed the style evolution and stage features of city’s modern commercial building facades.This paper is mainly about the research on building facade prototype and facade modeling.The style evolution of Guangzhou’s modern commercial buildings is mainly divided into: early British and French colonized Asian style,mid-term classical eclectic style and later early modernist style.This paper summarized the common features of commercial buildings in Guangzhou and found out the prototypes.Vertical analysis included prototype tracing and evolution rules summarizing;horizontal analysis includes summarizing the local features of Guangzhou’s commercial buildings.It also summarized the different stage modeling features and evolution characteristics of modern commercial buildings in Guangzhou and also extended the application idea of facade prototype of historic buildings.The first chapter of this paper explained the research background and significance,analyzed the status of domestic and foreign researches on prototype theory and Guangzhou’s modern buildings.The second chapter defined the concept of prototype theory and stated researches in the relevant areas and analyzed the necessity of prototype theory in architecture for the study of building facade.The third chapter summarized Guangzhou’s modern commercial development,analyzed the background and development of the city’s modern commercial buildings and divided these buildings into three research stages.The fourth chapter analyzed the facade prototypes,namely static prototype and dynamic prototype,of Guangzhou’s modern commercial buildings in the three stages.The fifth chapter summarized the facade modeling and analyzed the facade features of the city’s modern commercial buildings from the aspects of facade composition,material and texture and facade elements.The sixth chapter analyzed the application cases of building prototypes.
