Research On The Terminal Design Of Small And Medium-sized Airports In China From The Perspective Of Sustainability

With the vigorous development of air transport,the scale of China's air transport continues to grow,and the phenomenon of reconstruction,expansion,and continued construction of small and medium-sized terminal buildings is increasing.In addition to the increasing aviation volume,the design of terminals is also facing many challenges,such as management mode changes,technological revolution and so on,which put forward higher requirements for the sustainable development and operation of terminals.However,as an important public infrastructure,the terminal buildings have large cost of input and error correction.It is of great research value and practical significance to study how to carry out the planning and design of the airport terminals in the case of high uncertainty,and to provide the possibility of future changes and redevelopment.The article is developed in accordance with the logic of asking questions,establishing a framework,stratification,and practical argumentation.The full text is composed of six chapters,the third to the fifth chapter are the core chapters of this article.Part 1: Ask questions(mainly corresponding to Chapter 1 and Chapter 2)The first chapter is an introduction,it discusses the the background of research and current situation,it explains the definition of relevant concepts and the research methods.The second chapter is to conduct basic research on small and medium-sized terminals.Combining relevant information and on-site investigation,the chapter combs the development overview of China's small and medium-sized airport terminals,and analyzes the reconstruction and expansion modes of the existing terminal,also the existing problems.Part 2: Establish the framework(mainly corresponding to Chapters 3 and Chapter 4)The third chapter expounds the influencing factors and value of the sustainable development of terminals,it compares and analyzes the typical sustainable design method of the terminal with the traditional terminal design method,and points out that sustainability need to be focused in the current design of terminals.This chapter lays the foundation for the establishment of a sustainable thinking framework for terminals.The fourth chapter is the thinking framework of the terminal design from a sustainable perspective.First of all,on the basis of summarizing a variety of sustainable design methods,it points out that "layered" design based on the service life of components is a condition for achieving sustainable construction.Under the guidance of the stratification theory,it makes three systems with the terminals' own characteristics,and it summarizes the designing strategy in strategies(more than 20 years),tactics(10-15 years),and operations(0-5 years).Finally,combining with the coherent design thinking,a thinking framework for sustainable design of terminals is proposed,and its composition and the logic of operation are explained.Part 3: Layered discussion(corresponding to Chapter 5)Chapter 5 focuses on strategies,tactics,and operations summarized in Chapter 4 and conducts a deeper analysis of these three aspects.It proposes sustainable design strategies,including:(1)Discuss the dialectical relationship between the sustainable design of terminals and the whole design of airport,and propose the designing strategies of the whole airport that can adapt to the sustainable development of terminals,including the top-down design of top floor,ancillary facilities,flexible periods to enhance the forward-looking planning and rationality of the construction process.(2)At the level of strategies,it proposes a layout plan mode and external space design method suitable for the small and medium-sized terminal buildings,and discusses in detail about the advantages and disadvantages of each development model and its scope of application;at the level of tactic,it is proposed to meet the external expansion and internal changes so that the terminal buildings can maintain space adaptability for a long period of time with simple changes or orderly transformation;at the level of operations,it proposes micro-manipulation methods for the purpose of improving flexibility.It discusses the measures to meet the needs of management and operation in different situations from remodeling,convertible,multifunctional and flexible furniture combinations.(3)From the economic benefits of terminals,through analysis of the more advanced operation and management experience of developed countries in the aviation industry,relevant suggestions are made to promote the benign development and operation of terminals.Part 4: Practice demonstration(corresponding to Chapter 6)Through the design process of Sanhe Airport in Yueyang,it explores the application of sustainable design strategies for small and medium-sized terminals in real life,and makes a further verification.Through the above analysis and discussion,the article hopes to provide some new ideas for the research of small and medium-sized terminals in China,and highlight the importance and feasibility of sustainable design as a whole way of thinking.
