Aero-engine is a complex system composed of many kinds of components. It works in high temperature, high pressure, high speed and other harsh environments for a long time, and its load changes frequently and greatly. This rigorous working conditions require aero-engine to be light in weight, high in thrust, low in fuel consumption, reliable in operation, long in life and low in cost. Its structure should be improved continuously according to the development needs, and maintenance services are also extremely important. In recent years,in the maintenance of aero-engine,the proportion of problems caused by parts failure is increasing. This paper mainly studies the failure analysis in the process of aero-engine maintenance.Through the summary and analysis of the causes and types of failure, the basic procedures and analysis ideas of failure analysis in the process of aero-engine maintenance are summarized.Typical failure cases in aero-engine maintenance are enumerated in this paper.Focusing on the failure of engine blades, the specific analysis methods, failure types and characteristics of blade cracks(defects)are determined.Based on the statistical analysis of aero-engine maintenance failure,a mobile, portable and wireless failure analysis case management system is designed and developed. The system not only provides full-text retrieval function of failure cases, which is convenient for engineers and technicians to search relevant failure cases quickly and comprehensively, but also provides statistical analysis function of failure information, which is convenient for quality managers and engineers to grasp the failure rules and quality status of products in time, and has a certain promoting effect on the improvement of aero-engine maintenance level.
