Research On The Development Space Of Light Wood Structure In China

As building material,timber has many advantages such as light weight,high intensity,close to nature,beautiful appearance,good processing,etc.Modern timber structure buildings have emerged widely in many countries in the world.With the development of modern science and technology,timber structures have integrated modern technology into itself in many aspects such as materials,processing,design,installation,etc.,becoming a combination of traditional construction concepts and modern technology.The revival of timber structure building conforms to the current trend as China has vigorously advocated ecological protection and put forward sustainable development strategy recently.China's traditional architectural culture is extensive and profound with vivid content.Timber structure building is one of the most important element of it and has developed for thousands of years.Since this century,China has paid more and more attention to the use of renewable timber structure materials.Meanwhile,both the increasing scientific research and technical exchanges between China and foreign countries in the field of timber structure building and the expanding application of modern timber structure building technology in our country push timber structure building to enter a new stage of development.Based on domestic and foreign research and practical cases,the material selection of light wood structure and structure of timber frame,this paper restores the project of wooden houses designed for leisure agriculture in Xinjiang Xiyuan Industry Development Center,summarizes the characteristics of timber structure building,attempts to compare the traditional timber structure with the light wood structure and summarizes the possibility for future development of light wood structure in China.
