Iron tailings is a kind of industrial solid waste with huge storage in China. And with the rapid development of China's industry, the production of iron tailings has increased year by year. The massive accumulation of iron tailings brings serious environmental and economic problems,so how to consume iron tailings has attracted people's attention. At present, the application of iron tailings in highway engineering is still in the exploration stage. If iron tailings can be used in highway engineering,it will bring good economic and environmental benefits. In this paper, the road durability of the stabilized iron tailings is studied by means of laboratory tests, which provides a test basis for improving the application of iron tailings in road engineering. The resistance to dry-wet cycle of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings and its influencing factors are explored through the dry and wet cycle tests. The regression equation of the influencing factors of strength is established through the uniform design tests, and the significance and order of the influencing factors were analyzed under the action of dry and wet cycles. The freeze-thaw resistance of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings and its influencing factors are explored by freeze-thaw cycle tests. The regression equation of the influencing factors of strength is established through the uniform design tests, and the significance and order of the influencing factors were analyzed under the action of freeze-thaw cycles.Exploring the shrinkage performance of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings by dry shrinkage test, and the effect of curing agent dosage and compacting degree on dry shrinkage performance.Exploring the shrinkage performance of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings by temperature shrinkage test, and the effect of curing agent dosage and compacting degree on temperature shrinkage performance. The results showed that, under the action of dry and wet circulation, the strength attenuation of the two curing agents stabilized iron tailings is significantly slower after 5 cycles. After 9 cycles,it tends to be stable. At this time, the strength of cement and soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings is attenuated by 18.2% and 15.7% respectively. The curing age,the dosage of curing agent, and the degree of compaction have significant effect on the strength. In the early curing period(0~14d),the strength increases rapidly, then the growth rate gradually decreases and tends to stabilize. The resistance to dry-wet cycle of soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings is better than that of cement stabilized iron tailings, but its strength is lower than that of cement stabilized iron tailings.Under the action of freeze-thaw cycle, the strength of the two curing agent stabilized iron tailings gradually stabilized after 6 cycles, the residual strength ratio was about 80%,and the residual strength ratio of soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings was slightly higher than cement stabilized iron tailings.Increasing the dosage of curing agent or increasing the degree of compaction has a more obvious effect on the strength of curing agent stabilized iron tailing. The dosage of curing agent, the degree of compaction, and the number of freeze-thaw cycles have a significant effect on the strength of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings. The order of influence is the dosage of curing agent, the degree of compaction, and the number of freeze-thaw cycles. The dry shrinkage strain and dry shrinkage coefficient of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings increased linearly within 9 days, and the growth slowed down and gradually stabilized after 9 days. The water loss rate is basically stable at about 7 days. The dry shrinkage strain and water loss mainly occur in the early stage,so the early stage maintenance should be paid attention to in the construction. The temperature shrinkage strain of cement or soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings increases linearly with the decrease of temperature. The temperature shrinkage coefficient decreases first, then increases and then decreases with the decrease of temperature. When the temperature is 10~0?,the temperature shrinkage coefficient reaches the minimum point. The increase of curing agent reduces the dry shrinkage and temperature shrinkage of the material, and the increase of compacting degree improves the dry shrinkage and temperature shrinkage of the material.Compared with cement stabilized iron tailings, soil stabilizer stabilized iron tailings have better dry shrinkage characteristics and temperature shrinkage characteristics.
