As the level of urbanization continues to rise,the scale of the city continues to expand along with urban development,the urban new district as an extension of the old city has also become the focus of many urban planning today.However,although the new urban areas have functionally shared the pressure of the old urban areas,many cities tend to neglect the display of urban characteristics in their development and construction,resulting in the emergence of the phenomenon of "a thousand cities".Urban culture is a collection of natural,historical,humanistic and other characteristics of a city,each city should have its own unique urban culture,which represents the city's personality,is the city's external display of business cards,urban public space as an important window of urban image display needs to carry the continuation and development of urban culture.At present,domestic research on urban culture is mainly focused on urban renewal and other aspects,and the study of the culture of urban new areas is relatively blank,therefore,this paper attempts to explore the display of the culture of urban new areas in public space from the perspective of landscape design.This paper analyzes the relevant literature on the urban context,discusses in depth its approach to landscape design in the context of urban new areas and urban public space,and argues from the perspective of the discovery,transformation and expression of the urban context in combination with excellent cases from home and abroad.In addition,this paper also uses the landscape design of the lakeside green corridor in Suqian City as a project practice,and proposes a universal and guiding strategy for the public space landscape design of the new district,in order to provide reference and experience on how to reflect the urban context in the public space landscape design of the new urban district afterwards.
