Electromagnetic railguns are favored in the military field because of their advantages such as high muzzle speed,difficulty in being intercepted,and strong offense.In recent years,domestic research on railguns has focused on small-caliber railguns,however,the phenomenon of transition that occurred during the launch of small-caliber railguns has not been effectively controlled.At the same time,some foreign experimental studies found that the medium and large-caliber railguns performed well in the firing test,which not only effectively avoided the transition phenomenon,but also improved the launching efficiency of the railgun.Inspired by this,this article has designed small,medium and large caliber C shaped armature,taking the same exit speed as the evaluation index and using ANSYS Workbench and Maxwell finite element software to simulate and analyze the electromagnetic and temperature fields of three caliber railguns.In the first part,the C shaped armature of the threedifferent caliber railguns was designed to meet the "Marshall's Law",and the interference state of the three is simulated and analyzed.Later,the method of applying equal effects was used to obtain the contact characteristics of the three caliber armatures.In the second part,the Maxwell finite element software was used to calculate the inductance gradient of the three caliber railguns.Then use Matlab Simulink software to get the excitation current that makes the three caliber railguns have the same exit speed.Finally,the transient electromagnetic fields of the three caliber railguns were calculated,and the current density distribution of the three caliber armature was analyzed.Last part,by establishing a mathematical model of frictional heat,the temperature field of three caliber railguns under frictional heat was simulated and analyzed.Then,based on the electromagnetic field calculation results as the initial conditions,the temperature distribution of the three caliber railguns under the action of their own resistance heat generation was calculated.Finally,the temperature distribution of each caliber rail under the coupling of frictional heat and Joule heat is calculated.
