Research On Community Outdoor Public Space Vitality Evaluation And Planning Countermeasures From The Perspective Of Mixed Use Neighborhood

For a long time,large-scale extensive rapid urbanization in Chinese cities has resulted in low-quality outdoor public space construction and lack of maintenance in many communities in the city,and has also caused “urban disease” problems such as neighbourhood indifference,land waste,and environmental degradation.Many cities have their own lack of attractiveness,uneven development,and declining birth rate.As a result,many cities have become “shrinking cities”,which has led to the idleness and lack of vitality of outdoor public spaces in urban communities,which has seriously hindered the sustainable development of cities.Therefore,under the guidance of the new urbanization policy that revitalizes the existing stock and rationally increases,the community’s outdoor public space vitality evaluation and improvement research is conducted from the perspective of a mixed-use neighborhood with an “18-hour” vitality orientation.It has important theoretical and practical significance to stimulate the vitality of outdoor public spaces in communities and promote sustainable and healthy development of cities.This article takes the outdoor public space of the residential community in Harbin as an example to carry out a research on the evaluation and improvement of the vitality of outdoor public space in the community.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Theoretical Basis.Firstly,the concepts of community,outdoor public space and public space vitality were defined,and the research progress of influencing factors,quantitative evaluation and planning countermeasures of outdoor public space vitality was combed.Then explored the background,connotation and research progress of mixed use neighborhood,and discussed the development trend of mixed use neighborhood from three aspects: mixed function,space construction and community service.(2)Field investigations were conducted on Harbin Baozhanghuating Community,Dazhenglijiang Community and Haxiwanda Community from three aspects: the level of mixed use in the neighborhood,the status of outdoor public space and facilities in the community,and the degree of community-guided public participation.On this basis,the main problems affecting the vitality of the community’s outdoor public space are analyzed,namely the low level of functional mixing,the small degree of openness,and the scattered spatial layout;the low qualityof green landscapes and space facilities,and the low walkability;community guidance and public participation insufficient.(3)Evaluation and analysis of community outdoor public space vitality.AHP-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was selected to construct a community outdoor public space vitality evaluation index system including 19 evaluation factors including three aspects: mixed practicality,space facility quality,and public communication level.And the weight and membership matrix of the evaluation index are determined.On this basis,the vitality of the community’s outdoor public space was evaluated and analyzed.The results of the evaluation analysis showed that: the quality of public space is higher than the vitality of mixed use and the vitality of public communication;different planning models affect the vitality of mixed use of the community;community outdoor public interaction is generally ignored.(4)Planning countermeasures for improving the vitality of community outdoor public spaces.Based on the investigation and analysis of the status quo of community outdoor public spaces and the analysis of the vitality evaluation results,planning strategies for improving the vitality of community outdoor public spaces are proposed from the perspective of mixed use neighborhoods.It includes three aspects: improving the mixed use level of life circle Residential areas,the quality of community outdoor public space,and the level of community outdoor public communication.
