Research On Daqing Volvo Car Manufacturing Co.,Ltd Inbound Logistics Mode Improvement

In recent decades,the demand of automobile has been increasing due to the improved living standard.Automobile is not only a simple means of transport,but a more personalized and smarter tool in people's lives with the advancement of science and technology.A new category of automobile manufacturing enterprises is emerging around China with the support of the policies of the Chinese government and broad market.The production and sales are able to occupy a proper post in automotive industry of the world,followed the fierce competition among automobile manufacturers.They have to adopt necessary strategies of reducing manufacture cost,improve production and operation efficiency and reduce waste in order to develop in the competition.Today,automobile manufactures can reduce production cost by controlling logistics process,besides improving production process,technology and management.It is significant to research the inbound logistics mode for manufacturing cost reduction,improve logistics mode and operation since Parts inbound logistics is the most complex,costly process among the world logistics.This paper describes the parts inbound logistics mode status of Daqing Volvo car manufacturing company and analyzes the existing problems,such as waste of labor and area due to rework on failure sequencing,intensive storage area due to the over storage etc.Combining the effect factors,such as locations of suppliers',logistics environment of in-plant,standardization of parts packaging,stability of production and support of IT system,the reason of the existing problems is also discussed.Then detailed improvement strategies have been proposed.The paper learns from and use classical inbound logistics mode flexible by literature research,and takes survey research on Volvo to collect logistics operation real data,based on the statistics,the characteristics of Volvo's inbound logistics mode has been summarized.It also demonstrates the achievement of the new strategies implementation and concludes the research and point out some unsolved problem and the further research direction.
