High temperature performance test is one of the most important design indexes of asphalt mixture design.At present,the main disease of asphalt pavement in our country is high temperature rutting.However,there are great differences in the test methods and evaluation indexes for evaluating the high temperature performance of asphalt mixtures in various regions of the world.The results of these tests have a guiding role in the project,which indirectly determines the quality of the asphalt pavement project.In this paper,the evaluation index and test method of high temperature performance of asphalt mixture in the most widely accepted design system of China France America asphalt pavement are studied.In this paper,the rutting test,the French large rutting test machine,the Hamburg wheel track test machine and the simple performance test machine are used to carry out the rutting test,the French large rutting test,the Hamburg wheel rutting test and the multiple creep test.By comparing the evaluation indexes of different test methods,such as rutting depth h,dynamic stability DS,deformation ratio ?,rutting depth Rd,rutting deformation curve L,Flow number FN and rheological index fi,it is found that the results of different test methods and evaluation indexes for different particle sizes of asphalt mixtures are not consistent.Different test methods and evaluation indexes are more accurate and reasonable for asphalt mixtures with different particle sizes and asphalt types.With the increasing severity of heavy load traffic,the detection of asphalt mixture is more rigorous.At the same time,with the continuous update of new materials and new technologies,a single detection method can not comprehensively evaluate all kinds of asphalt mixture.Through the comparative analysis and correlation study of different test methods and evaluation indexes,it is found that Hamburg wheel track test and multiple creep test results are more accurate for modified asphalt with larger particle size or new materials with high performance,and French large-scale wheel track test and domestic wheel track test results are more accurate for asphalt mixture with smaller particle size or matrix asphalt.However,based on the multi creep test equipment is more expensive and more complex to operate,Hamburg wheel track test can not only evaluate the high temperature stability of asphalt mixture,but also evaluate the water stability;domestic wheel track test can not accurately reflect the high temperature performance of asphalt mixture for small particle size or large deformation of matrix asphalt mixture test.Therefore,Hamburg wheel track test is recommended for the modified asphalt with larger particle size or new materials with high performance;French large wheel track test is recommended for the mixture with smaller particle size or matrix asphalt.In this paper,the test method and evaluation index are verified by the reconstruction and expansion project of Jiqing expressway.
