Giving priority to the development of public transportation is an important direction for solving the traffic congestion and alleviating the pressure on resources and environment in large cities in China. With the construction of rail transportation in major cities in China, many large cities have gradually formed a multi-level public transportation structure with urban rail transportation as the skeleton and ground bus as the meridian.Under this background, how to give full play to the advantages of ground transit and form a public transit service system that integrates ground, underground and elevated systems is currently an important issue. The good connection of different forms of public transport can not only solve the problem of residents’ "last mile" travel, but also improve the operating efficiency of urban rail transit and ground transit.Based on this, this paper takes urban rail transit stations as the research object and deeply studies the design method of micro-circulation bus routes connecting rail transit. The main work and research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Firstly,starting from the concept of micro transit, this paper discusses the characteristics and classification of micro-circulation bus.Secondly, based on the investigation of the practice of the micro-circulation bus system in some cities, this paper analyzes the function positioning of the micro-circulation bus in the public transport systems of different cities.Thirdly, the paper summarizes several typical connection forms between micro-circulation bus and rail transit lines. In addition, through the analysis and comparison of the connection between micro-circulation bus and other methods, the paper studies the general method of micro-circulation bus line layout, and discusses the influencing factors and basic principles of micro-circulation bus line layout.(2)This paper proposes a clustering method of urban rail transit stations based on the level of bus connection service. Then, this paper selects the location of the station, the nature of the station, the passenger flow in and out of the station, the bus resource configuration around the station(including the number of bus stations within 500 meters, the number of connected bus lines, the density of the bus line network, and the average transfer distance)as clustering parameters, and uses k-means clustering method to classify urban rail transit stations. The results show that this method can screen out the stations that do not match the bus connection service level around the subway stations in the city and reveal the blind areas of the bus connection service in the "rail + bus" travel mode.(3)This paper builds a model for setting micro-circulation bus lines connecting urban rail transit stations. The model aims at the minimum passenger travel cost, the minimum operating cost of the bus company, and the maximum number of passengers in the line service area.It considers constraints such as the length of the bus line and the effect of the average speed of vehicles on different levels of roads, and designs a simulated annealing algorithm. The comparison with the conventional bus line setting model verifies the rationality and effectiveness of the model and algorithm.(4)The case analysis was carried out in the background of station G in city B.Using the model and algorithm in this paper, not only verified the practicability of the model and algorithm, but also discussed the impact of the average running speed of the bus and the number of connecting bus lines on the route scheme through sensitivity analysis.Relevant conclusions can not only provide a method for bus companies to arrange connection routes and solve the problem of residents’ “last mile” travel, but also provide a theoretical basis for improving the service level of connection bus routes and reducing the operational burden of bus companies.
