Traditional dwellings are cultural treasures contained in the vast rural areas of China.Mucha Village,Lantian County,Xi'an City,Shaanxi Province,is located in the northern foothills of the Qinling Mountains. It has a number of residential buildings with Guanzhong style and mountain features. The existing dwellings in Mucha Village were built in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The value of the cultural preservation is not very good. However, because the people of the mountain villages have lived here for generations, the ancestors have passed on many traditions and inherited many traditional architectural techniques and construction techniques. In the Qinling Mountains,at the junction of the North and the South, its architecture combines many characteristics of the South and the North. From the regional perspective of the architecture, the residential form of Mucha Village has the meaning of watershed. However, due to inconvenient transportation, the population loss in the context of industrialization and urbanization has caused the traditional dwellings in Mucha Village to be more serious and even destroyed.Rural tourism is a powerful means to rejuvenate the vitality of the countryside.Under the promotion and support of the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” in Lantian County, global tourism has become the main theme of the new era.Taking advantage of this opportunity,Mucha Village hopes to promote rural development through the development of rural tourism and inject new vitality into the old villages.Based on the transformation of the villagers' residences in the perspective of rural tourism, this paper explores the design of the spatial and functional adaptability of residential buildings, the inheritance of construction techniques, and the balance between old and new.Combining theory with practical methods, summed up the principle of the transformation of residential buildings with guiding significance for Mucha Village, and designed a residential reconstruction plan suitable for the project.Firstly, through the basic research of rural tourism and traditional residential reform, the paper first understands the development of rural tourism in China, including the origin, development status and development trend of rural tourism in China, and analyzes the positioning and development mode of rural tourism. It sorts and summarizes the transformation of traditional residential buildings. The basic principle. The case of the transformation of excellent traditional residential houses in the context of rural tourism was analyzed, and the six aspects of external environment, courtyard space, interior space, architectural form, functional layout and building materials were comprehensively interpreted.Combine the principles of residential renovation and refine the appropriate transformation methods.Survey of the villages in Mucha Village.Focus on data search and field visits on natural environment and climate characteristics, human history and regional customs, population composition and industrial structure, economic status and infrastructure. The current situation of the existing traditional dwellings in the village is examined, and the architectural forms and internal functions, building materials, structural forms and construction practices of the dwellings,as well as technical indicators such as ventilation, lighting and thermal environment are mainly investigated.Combined with the leading idea of the superior planning, the rural tourism positioning and development goals of Mucha Village are proposed;the project background and base status, design goals and requirements, and the specific content of the transformation are clarified.Renovation of traditional dwellings in Dongjiatai area of Mucha Village.I hope to bring reference design experience to the same type of project.
