Research On The Application Of Xiangxi Miao Painting Art In Packaging Design

Miao painting,as one of the representatives of Miao culture in Western Hunan,originally appeared in the form of Miao girls’embroidery pattern draft,and later developed into an independent painting species,which was mostly found in the door curtain,curtain,clothing,house back and room decoration of Miao residence in Western Hunan.At the beginning of the last century,with the successive death of old artists,the number of people learning Miao paintings was decreasing,and Miao paintings were once faced with loss of heritage.Under the painstaking inheritance of Liang Qirui,Liang Yongfu and Liang Desong,the ancestors of the Liang family were able to continue.The three grandfathers made bold innovations in painting,constantly enriched the subject matter and techniques of painting,developed the traditional monochrome sample into five-color Miao painting,and at the same time developed their cloth painting into Xuan Paper and Shui Fen Paper for painting,which made Miao painting refreshing and interesting.After approval by the State Council,Miao painting was listed in the third batch of intangible cultural heritage of the country.。Although the Miao paintings have been preserved so far and have been recognized and protected by the state and the government,they still face many problems in their inheritance and development,such as low social awareness and lack of successors.To break through this situation,it is necessary to promote the art of Miao painting,so that it can be revitalized under the new historical and cultural background.In this paper,Miao painting as the research object,try to apply Miao painting art to modern packaging design,so that traditional and modern integration and collision sparks,in order to better promote and carry forward the art of Miao painting.After referring to the relevant literature,the author mainly interviews the inheritors of Miao paintings by means of field visits and field visits,and summarizes the historical origin,folk culture,artistic characteristics and techniques of Miao paintings in Western Hunan.After fully understanding the relevant situation of Miao painting in Western Hunan,the Miao painting is sorted out and extracted,its element characteristics are applied to packaging design,and products packaging with regional characteristics of Western Hunan,such as food packaging,daily necessities packaging,etc.,are developed,so that Miao painting art can be integrated into modern life in a new form,which is conducive to the protection of non-material.Cultural heritage can also be better inherited and developed.
