Design And Development Of Wire Harness Automatic Drawing Machine

In automobile harness processing enterprises,drawing marking lines on harness surface often adopts traditional production mode,which is under the manual operation and manual quality inspection.The whole process is scattered,involving participation and debugging of many people,besides its production mode is not compatible and the quality is not easy to control,thus the efficiency is low.Most of the old types of harness line drawing machines adopt relay control mode,which causes low automation level and low production efficiency that cannot meet the need of “reducing the production cost and improving the product quality”.The old production equipment needs to be upgraded automatically.Considering the control principle and production characteristics of the old equipment,based on the Study of the process,control flow and inspection method of production line,this paper redesigned automatic line drawing machine production equipment on the basis of PLC and put it into use successfully.This equipment could integrate the clipping,the inspection,the drawing with the drying link to realize the drawing automation,reduce the labor intensity and production costs,thus improve the production quality and efficiency.Firstly,The research status of automotive wire harness manufacturing industry is introduced in this paper,analyzed the production characteristics,existing problems and feasibilities of innovation;secondly,the technological requirements and control methods of the line drawing machine are thoroughly demonstrated,combining the processing characteristics of the production equipment,it confirmed that the automatic line drawing production could be realized by adjusting the wrist rotation motor automatic adjustment angle;at the same time,the writer made a research on how to improve the workholding positioning mechanical structure;lastly this paper made an analysis on production process and determined the control scheme based on PLC controller and electric cylinder device,thus the electrical control line and PLC program of the production line were designed,and HMI human-machine interface was configured,which made it possible for the automatic production line of wire harness drawing machine capable of on-line monitoring,debugging and making failure alarm.Through reforming on the harness line drawing machines production equipment,the automatic level of production line got improved,it was easier and safer for its functions of on-line monitoring and making failure alarm.Since the production lines were put into use in 2017,its stable and reliable operation has speeded up the production time of every unit,which rises from 23s/pc to 15s/pc,and the worker has been reduced from 3 to 1,thus,increasing the economic benefits of the company.Therefore it proves that it is worthy popularization and application in the mass production of similar automobile wiring harness.
