The Heterogeneity Effect And Its Influence Mechanism Of High-Speed Railway On The Development Of Urban Tourism

In recent years,the high-speed railway has been rapidly constructed.The completion of the “four vertical and four horizontal ” high-speed railway networks has enabled the major cities to communicate with each other frequently.As a spatial connection channel for the tourist source to the tourist destination,the impact that transportation on tourism development cannot be underestimated.Therefore,as a typical modern means of transportation,high-speed railway is an important factor that affect tourism development,which has become a consensus.Based on this,this paper collects data from 286 cities in 2005-2015,and uses the “quasi-natural test” method of Difference-in-Differences to quantitatively measure the effect of the high-speed railway on the development of tourism.In addition,through Dynamic Effect Test model,Heterogeneity Analysis model and Mediation Effect Model,we further analyze the dynamic impact,heterogeneity impact and mechanism of high-speed railway on tourism development.The conclusion shows that the high-speed railway has a significant positive impact on the development of tourism,especially on the growth of total tourism revenue.After removing the factor of cities with 5A attractions,inbound tourism,provincial capitals and municipal cities,cities size,the conclusion is true still.After the high-speed railway put into operation,with time goes by,the influence of the highspeed railway on the development of tourism will be stronger.The impact of the high-speed railway on the development of tourism is heterogeneous,and the more highway traffic developed city,the weaker the high-speed rail effect on tourism development.Also we notice that the more tourism economic dependent,the stronger high-speed rail effect on tourism development..The high-speed railway can promote economic development,improvement of transportation network,innovation cooperation and communication,improvement of tourism reception service capacity,development of tourism resources,industrial agglomeration,and then these effct will influence development of tourism.Among this factors,the high-speed railway have the biggest effect in promoting tourism development through tourism resources,and then improvement of transportation network,followed by tourism reception services.the next is economic development,fllowed by innovation cooperation and communication,and industrial agglomeration generate the smallest influence.In addition,that high-speed railway promotes more total tourism revenue through economic development,the improvement of the transportation network,the innovation and information,the development of tourism resources,and the industrial agglomeration,while promotes more total tourism population through the improvement of tourism reception service capacity.
