Under the rapid advancement of urbanization, the historical sites in the built environment are facing the problems of space encroachment and value loss caused by the high overlap between urban construction and ruins.People began to realize that the site should not be treated as a still life.It should pay attention to its important value as a public resource of the city.If it cannot be effectively activated,it cannot achieve effective protection in the true sense. Therefore, along with the transformation of the concept of protection of the site and the development of social economy, the construction of public green space around the site space in the built-up area of the city has become a new way for the protection and development of the site and the organic renewal of the historical city. The green space based on heritage settings has broken the state of deserted and closed areas where the site is located, and affects the surrounding environment with its cultural connotation and ecological benefits. The construction of the green space based on heritage settings guides the reconstruction of the surrounding urban space, the improvement of the ecological environment, the enrichment of cultural life and the restructuring of the industrial structure, and promotes the development of regional social economy. In the 21 st century,China is transforming from a functional city to a cultural city. The goal of urban development has also shifted from incremental expansion to quality improvement and vitality.Especially for historical cities, optimizing the city’s existing space, excavating and inheriting urban characteristics, paying attention to people’s daily life and cultural activities, achieving the coordinated symbiosis between site protection and economic development have become new requirements for urban development. The construction of the green space based on heritage settings and the surrounding urban environment as well as the interaction between them have become new concerns.Xi’an,with its long history of building a city and a large number of cultural relics,is also facing the heavy responsibility of urban renewal and transformation, space vitality and cultural connotation under the new situation. In the 1980 s,Xi’an proposed in the second versions of master plan to combine cultural relics protection with urban public green space construction. So far, many green space based on heritage settings have been formed that overlap with urban built-up areas.Exploring the spatial coupling relationship between the site green space and the surrounding urban environment is to pay attention to the past, present and future of the city.It is to use the cultural value of the site and the ecological benefits of the green space to carry out regional space reconstruction and comprehensive benefit improvement to create a dynamic local space. This article takes Xi’an Qujiang area, which lasted for more than 2,000 years and contains many sites and green space,as the research object.Firstly,it comb the evolution of the historical form of Qujiang site and the distribution of the green space based on heritage settings, and classifies the types of it.Secondly, conducting research and analysis on the environment of two typical ruins and surrounding cities, and presenting the status quo, space background, social environment and industrial composition of the building by means of diagrams.Combining the constructed spatial coupling degree research framework to objectively and quantitatively combine the current and spatial coupling degree, aiming to reveal the problems existing under the current coupling effect. Finally, the coupling optimization strategy is proposed combined with theoretical and empirical research.Exploring the effective path of sustainable and coordinated development of future green space based on heritage settings and urban space, and providing basic materials and research ideas for the follow-up research.
