With the continuous advancement of urbanization in China, the number of motor vehicles has increased rapidly, and the traffic congestion and environmental pollution have been deteriorating. It would be an effective way to alleviate this problem that guiding individuals to reduce car travel to use large-capacity public transportation, and forming a green and lowcarbon urban residents' travel structure. This paper focuses on the psychological factors of individuals in the process of travel mode selection, and studies the behavior mechanism of individuals who abandon car travel and transfer to public transport modes with large traffic volume and high resource utilization. This study considers the switching behavior of individuals from car trips to public transportation as a systematic, dynamic and organic process, and explores the effects of psychological factors on the transfer of individuals from car to public transport in a multiinformation context.Firstly, psychological variables and information context variables were selected as the pushing factor of car, pulling factor of public transportation, the mooring factor of switching and the moderating factor of information context, based on social psychology theory.Secondly,A model of individuals switching from car to public transportation was established and hypotheses were proposed based on the PPM frame. Then, the questionnaire was designed based on several mature scales, and the data collection and analysis methods were proposed, which was used to empirically analyze the model with PLS-SEM algorithm. After the exploratory stage, the model had been tested and revised, then the model was identified and verified in the verification stage. Finally, the significance and application value of the model were discussed. This paper analyzes the psychological process of individuals switch from the car to public transportation mode, and explores the effect of various psychological factors and information context factors on individuals' switching intention, setting the theoretical basis for low-carbon travel mode guidance and urban traffic information service.
