Research On The Landscape Renewal Along The Liwa River Which Is Located At East China Normal University,based On "The Memory Of Place"

The campus of East China Normal University is in the historical and protected area.The Riva River runs across the campus from north to south,dividing the campus into two parts.The Riva River was originally part of the Jiangnan water network.During the Daoguang period,the project was cut and straightened,and the remaining river channel was named Donglao River.Since 1931,the modern national capitalist Rong Zongjing presented the Riva River to Daxia University for the leisure and entertainment of teachers and students.In 1951,Daxia University was merged into East China Normal University,and Riva River became the school river of East China Normal University for the study,life and entertainment of teachers and students.Carrying the history and memory of East China Normal University in different periods,bearing the emotions of teachers and students.With the development of the campus,new buildings are added,old buildings are abandoned,and the functional space is not adapted to the negative space of teachers and students.The overall style of the river landscape is gradually difficult to unify.Nowadays,in the design of the transformation,the designer often limits the space and enhances the environment through simple transformation technology,ignoring the place memory and spiritual connotation behind the space,making it difficult for the experiencer to find a sense of identity and belonging in the place.In the face of the current situation of the Riva River,the author selected the landscape along the river in the textbook section as the research object.Firstly,through the investigation of the influencing factors such as historical value,environmental resources,spatial layout and usage status,the existing problems are sorted out,and the design concept of remodeling of “place memory” and its identification,accessibility and sustainability are proposed.The principle of transformation design.Secondly,the author deeply explores the elements of “place memory” such as historical memory,spatial form,architectural unit and cultural life along the Riva River,and analyzes the linearity of the place memory.Thirdly,through the identification,accessibility,and sustainable design principles,the different elements of the riverside landscape around the textbooks will be integrated and reconstructed,and specific project practice will be carried out to give new life to the building and surrounding environment.The memory characteristics of the riverside landscape are enhanced.Finally,it reflects on the remodeling process and achievements of the “place memory” of the Riva Riverside landscape,and analyzes the revelation of the “place memory” reshaping theory to the reform design,providing theoretical and case support for China’s future urban renewal and development.
