Research On Memorial Landscape Reconstruction From The Perspective Of Place Memory

As a showcase of regional culture,the monumental landscape carries the historical culture,emotional memory and spiritual value of the region,connecting the past,present and future.It has an irreplaceable role in inheriting national culture and promoting social civilization.Along with the continuous promotion of urbanization,urban population increases,monumental landscape in the process of urban renewal,resulting in the disappearance of historical memory,site culture fragmentation and other problems.How to preserve and apply the culture and memory of monumental landscape in the process of rapid development of the times,and continue the original site emotional identity is the problem that this study hopes to solve.Starting from the theory of place memory,this paper studies the place memory of Xi ’an Revolution Park,and explores the strategies and methods of applying the place memory theory to the transformation of monumental landscape.First of all,the author uses literature research to sort out and define the relevant theories,and determines the connection between the structure of place memory and memorial landscape from the aspects of subject,object,condition and environment,and probes into the supporting relationship between place memory theory and memorial landscape.The elements of place memory in memorial landscape are divided into historical and cultural memory,material environment memory and behavioral memory,and the rationality and feasibility of element classification are demonstrated through classic cases.According to the principle and goal of place memory expression in memorial landscape,the contents and methods of transformation design of memorial landscape are constructed under the theory of place memory.Secondly,by using the methods of field investigation and observation and interview,the current situation of the site and the elements of site memory in the three aspects of history and culture,material space environment and behavioral activities of Xi ’an Revolution Park are investigated and studied.In addition,from the perspective of historical value and memory degree,the core elements of memory are selected by means of map superposition of memory elements.Finally,in view of the current situation of the park,it puts forward the strategy of "perfecting the historical context,connecting the historical narrative tour line","optimizing the spatial structure,improving the infrastructure",improving the ecological landscape,guiding and participating in commemorative activities,and so on to carry out the landscape transformation design of Xi ’an Revolution Park.Practice shows that the application of the theory of place memory to the memorial landscape can improve the overall environment of the park,preserve and inherit the context of the site,awaken the city residents’ place memory of the revolutionary park and extend the emotional identification of the site.The research hopes that the site context in the monumental landscape can be preserved and inherited through the relevant research on the place memory theory,so as to awaken the city residents’ place memory of the revolutionary park and extend the emotional identification of the site.Enrich the application of place memory theory in the field of memorial landscape research,and provide theoretical support and practical inspiration for the future transformation of memorial landscape.
