The ancient stage,as a fixed acoustic building carrying Chinese opera performances,aims at making people see,hear clearly,hear far and listen well.When it was built,it adopted a variety of sound-aiding technologies,such as raising the foundation of the stage,adding a roof to the stage,adding gables,building walls and even setting up various forms of cavities,which gave birth to the development of sound-aiding technologies in ancient Chinese performance-watching buildings.In the Qing Dynasty,cavity-based acoustic technology became the mainstream of the development of ancient stage acoustic technology.Among them,"cavity-based" is an important type of cavity-based acoustic technology.However,the most complicated "30" shaped "cross kiln" and "pillow kiln" cave-dwelling stage are all located in Pingyao,and the acoustic effect of such stage is remarkable,which is widely spread among the people.However,at present,there is no systematic acoustic research on Pingyao’s ancient stage with cavity,and the evolution process of Pingyao’s stage acoustic technology from simple to complex is still unclear.Under this background,this study systematically combed the relevant documents of Pingyao ancient stage,and made a field investigation on the remains of Pingyao ancient stage,found a number of stage remains with special acoustic effects,and analyzed the relationship between acoustic components and theiracoustic effects through acoustic measurement.This paper is mainly divided into three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.In the introduction part,firstly,the research issues and their significance are explained,secondly,the research objects are defined,thirdly,the research status and difficulties of this problem are further analyzed,and finally,the research ideas and innovations of this paper are elaborated.The main part consists of the systematic exposition from the first chapter to the fourth chapter.The first chapter combs the historical evolution of Pingyao ancient stage from a historical perspective.The second chapter systematically summarizes the acoustic technology applied in Pingyao ancient stage and analyzes its acoustic principle.In the third chapter,a case study is carried out on a typical stage with a cavity to quantitatively analyze its acoustic characteristics.The fourth chapter discusses why there are a large number of cavity-based ancient theatrical troupes in Pingyao.What is the connection between cavity-setting technologies such as "urn on wall","vertical cylindrical cavity on table bottom" and "hole on background" in this era?;In the concluding part,this paper concludes that the stage cavity has an impact on the volume,sound quality,tone and teleportation of the stage opera music.It is the key acoustic technology adopted by Pingyao ancient stage and plays an important role in acoustic effect.The innovations of this paper are as follows:(1)research methods:innovation of acoustic parameters and acoustic measurement methods toexpress acoustic effects;(2)research contents: after combing the cavity stage systems in Pingyao and its surrounding areas for the first time,classification is made according to the cavity types;(3)research conclusions: it is proved that cavity stage is indeed helpful to sound.Based on a large number of field investigations and measurements,this paper collates the relevant materials and analyzes the acoustic problems found.If there are any mistakes,it is still necessary to correct them.
