With the rapid economic development and globalization, the impact of urban landscape on today’s society is also increasing, and people’s demand for landscape is also increasing. While the number of urban landscapes increases, facilities and functions are more optimized.Even so,those unsatisfactory places cannot be avoided.Due to improper initial design, improper site selection,or lack of post-maintenance,some abandoned lands in the urban center or public space without management;land difficult to develop;and those space environments with small crowds, inconvenient transportation, and incomprehensible use make them have to become "lost spaces in the urban space."In the first two parts of the paper, describe the lost space of the landscape and sort out the related theories. Then the author analyze the existing phenomena to clarify the characteristics of the space and the reasons for its formation. The reasons include the following: non-human space, lack of functionalism, imbalance between "hard space" and "soft space",failure to comply with theories of places, unsafe factors become hidden dangers, too much emphasis on formalism, neglect of popular spirit.Through the above discussion, the author seeks to find a suitable method for the reconstruction of the lost space in our country and for the updated design of the lost space in our urban landscape. The paper takes the reconstruction of the Cuernavaca linear railway in the industrial site in Mexico for example.Through sufficient analysis of the reasons for this paper pats forward to the reconstruction idesa, ways and methods, control principles, planning strategies and space design techniques proposed in the previous section to optimize the lost space, and then update and design the space. And try to transform these lostspace into popular space, and people are also happy to be active in the space.
