| Urban lost space is an unpleasant and anti-traditional urban space that needs to be redesigned. This concept was proposed in a book Finding Lost Space--Theory of Urban Design, written by Roger Transik,an American landscape architect.Since the reform and opening up,China has not only witnessed rapid economic development and accelerated urbanization, but also undergone major changes in the way of transportation. The railway and its auxiliary spaces and facilities in the original city are gradually abandoned, removed, protected or rebuilt in the process of urban renewal. They are like the scars of the city, separating the close relationship between different Spaces, which not only affect the overall image of the city, but also give people a profound experience of lost. Therefore, the transformation of railway lost space is a problem that cannot be ignored in the process of urban construction and development. This paper takes the core section of Hongmei Road of Xuhong branch of Shanghai-Hangzhou railway in Changning District of Shanghai as the reconstruction base.Based on the theory of lost urban space, this paper combines the theories of place spirit, environmental behavior and sustainable development. In addition,it also draws lessons from the classic urban railway lost space design cases at home and abroad. With the concept of people-oriented,cultural inheritance and sustainable urban development, this paper studies and designs the core section of Hongmei road of Xuhong branch of Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway. The space will be transformed into a community leisure park with the characteristics of railway industry culture. At the same time,it also provides a recreational space for residents and promotes the communication between them. This paper hopes to discuss and summarize the methods and principles of railway lost space reconstruction through the reconstruction of the space. It tries to explore the potential of space and rejuvenate the industrial culture,in order to improve the city’s environment and the quality of life for the residents. |
