Currently,the harvest level of mechanization of sugarcane is still very low.According to the survey,it is less than 1%,otherwise it is diffficult to please harvest workers,and the cost is more and more higher.Therefore,it is very necessary to develop the whole stalk sugarcane harvester for the upland area.This paper relies on the projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology personnel services companies and the projects of manufacturing systems and Guangxi advanced manufacturing Laboratory,we cooperate with a company in Guangxi to develop small sugarcane harvester.We have manufactured the physical prototype,but found stool root damage and cane loss serious during field trials,in addition,there is a phenomenon of push soil.According to the result of statistics and theoretical analysis,we found that cutting blow soil is better to reduce stool root damage and cane loss,therefore,We put forward controller system of sugarcane harvester base cutter.This paper mainly contain the following parts:1.We study on cutting sugarcane blow soil and cutting sugarcane above soil how to affect the stool root damage,then we combine experiment and theory to analyse internal force and derormation of sugarcane how to change.According to Statistics and analysis:we found that cutting blow soil is better to reduce stool root damage.2.We study on the relationship of the hydraulic circuit pressure of basecutter’s and the depth of cutting blow soil through field trials,founding that the depth have a significant impact on pressure,and there is a certain relationship between pressure and depth.3.We initially proposed a method of controller system of sugarcane harvester base cutter and conducted experiment on the physical prototype,analysing and comparing two different methods of signal acquisition,and found the best one.At the same time,we combined the statistic of the cane cluster distance and design requirements to assess the base cutter controller system whether to satisfy the requirements.After calculation,we found the system meet design requirements.4.We begin to carefully design the controller system,including selecting sensor,selecting control unit,executive body design,and software design.5.We apply simulation software adams to analyse the motion of base cutter and sugarcane under no control system,and base cutter or sugarcane how to move during adjusting under adding control system.According to the simulation,we found that sugarcane could be cut and elevated successfully,but base cutter can’t adjust accurately due to its own inertia during controlling.
