This experiment was conducted to determine the effects and the interactions of cecropin xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin on growth performance and immune function of broilers.According to the basic diet and the addition of 20g/t virginiamycin premix,300g/t xylose oligosaccharide,200g/t curcumin,300g/t xylose oligosaccharide +200g/t curcumin were named as control group,antibiotic group,xylose oligosaccharide group,curcumin group,xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group.A total of 300 1-day-old AA male broilers with healthy and uniform body weight were selected and divided into 5 groups with 6 replicates in each group and 10 chickens in each replica.During the experimental period of 42 days,free intake and drinking were maintained.The results of the experiment are as follows:1.Addition of xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin were significantly elevated the average daily intake and the daily gain(P < 0.05),reduce the feed/gain of broilers(P < 0.01),that had no significant difference with the addition of antibiotics(P>0.05).The results showed that the production efficiency of broilers was affected by these two substances as well as the feed utilization rate,and xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group had the best performance(P < 0.05).2.The results showed that the immune organ development of broilers in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and on the 42 nd,the bursal index,spleen index,and thymus index were all significantly increased(P<0.01),that had no significant difference with the addition of antibiotics(P > 0.05),and the xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group was extremely significant higher than that of the group xylose oligosaccharide or curcumin added alone(P < 0.05).3.When xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin were added into daily feed,the results showed that the two experimental groups could effectively promote the contents of total protein,albumin and immunoglobulin in serum of broilers(P < 0.01),The total protein content of xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group in 42 days was significantly higher than that in curcumin group or xylose oligosaccharide group alone(P < 0.01),and the content of Ig A and Ig M in xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group was significantly higher than that in curcumin group(P < 0.01),which means that xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin achieve better synergistic effect?4.Adding xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin into daily feed,the results showed that the two experimental groups could effectively promote the activities of SOD and GSH-px in serum of broilers and significantly reduced the content of MDA in serum of broilers(P<0.05).The results showed that the content of GSH-px in xylose oligosaccharide+curcumin group in 42 days was significantly higher than that in xylose oligosaccharide group or curcumin group(P < 0.01).5.The comprehensive results showed that both xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin had the effect of improving the production performance and immuning function of broiler chickens,and the effect of combining both add achieved better synergistic effect,that means xylose oligosaccharide and curcumin was the effective measure to replace antibiotics d gini toxin.
