Yao minority autonomous county,is located in north-west of Guangdong, south of Mengzhuling Mountain Range, bounded by Lian county to the north east,Yangshan to the south east,Huaiji to the south,Zhuang zutonomous county to the west.It is flat in the middle, embosomed in hills, with a humid substropical monsoon climate and hot rainy season. Therefore,it is suitable for growth of the tea plants and other crops.66 tea germplasms from Woshui,Huanglian and Dalong of Liannan were investigated in this stud y,from phonotype of blades, biochemical components of fresh shoots and RAPD marker, providing basises for elite tea breeding. The results were list as follows:(1)24 phenotypic traits of blades of 66 tea germplasms were investigated, with the average variation coefficient 31.86%.The highest and lowest variations were 92.90% and 12.02%,respectively.They were of abundant diversity, with diversity index 1.10,among which, the highest and lowest were that of phyllopodium and leaf surface, corresponding to 2.08 and 0.59,respectively.Those germplasms were clustered into 5 groups at the euclidean distance 20 based on 24 phenotypies of blades, demonstrating the rich diversity.Besides, some special resources were useful to provide material basises for excellent tea breeding,i.e.,Huanglian NO.39 was of soft leaves, the bud colour of Woshui NO.1 and Huanglian NO.35 were jade-like white,Huanglian NO.18 was of no pubescences.(2)The ration of tea polyphenol to amino acid(TP to AA)of tea germplasms from Liannan was of significant differences.Woshui NO.2 and Huanglian NO.3 were the highest and lowest, corresponding to 20.37 and 4.29,respectively.Furthermore,TP to AA of 8 resources was lower than 8,that of 9 ones was higher than 15.The results revealed tha t the distribution of tea germplasms from Liannan was of geographical characteristics. In detail, tea population from Woshui and Dalong was suitable to process black and oonlong tea,and that from Huanglian was suitable to process green tea.(3)Biochemical components of tea germplasms were of aboundant diversity as well,on average 49.88%.The variations of theobromine(139.88%),CG(113.45%)and ECG(105.95%)decreased in turn, and the lowest was that of aqueous extract(12.14%).The first two principal components represented 94.61% of total information by PCA analysis. What's more, some resources with unconventional biochemical components were screened,i.e,4 resources were of high amino acid(>5%),13 ones were of high polyphenols(>34%),Huanglian NO.22 was of low caffeine(<1%).(4)124 bands were amplified from 17 selected primers by RAPD marker, with 96.0% of polymorphism. And genetic polymorphic index of Nei's(H)and Shannon's diversity index(I)were 0.491 and 0.684,respectively.Tea populations were clustered into three groups relating with region, based on RAPD by UPGMA.
