Effects Of Artemisia Apiacea And Compound Chinese Herbal Medicine Additives On Growth,Immunity And Disease Resistance Of Free Range Broilers

In order to study the effects of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives on growth,immunity and disease resistance of free range broilers,The experiment was designed of multi-factor and single level.360 male healthy Liangfenghua broilers with same body weight and 30 days old were selected and divided into 4 groups,there were 3 repetitions in every group and 30 broilers in each repetition.Control group was fed basal diet,experiment groups were fed respectively 1% Artemisia apiacea,1% Artemisia apiacea compound additive?and 1% Artemisia apiacea compound additive? with the basal diet together.Results of the 60-day feeding test are as follows:(1)Effect of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives on growth performance and disease resistance of broilers:The feed weight ratio of the experimental group 3 significantly was lower 4.77% than that of control group;the average daily gain and crude protein metabolism rate of the experimental group 2 and the experimental group 3 respectively was higher 7.38%?8.51%?and 5.76%?6.68% than that of control group;the diarrhea rate?mortality and ooeysts per gram of feces of three Chinese herbal medicine groups were significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05),ooeysts per gram of feces of the experimental group 1 is the lowest among them(P<0.01);the morbidity of the experimental group 1 and the experimental group 2 respectively reduced 42.44% and 56.46% compared with control group,and the difference is significant(P<0.05).(2)Effect of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives on slaughter performance and muscle quality of broilers:The addition of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives in the diet can effectively improve the slaughter performance and muscle nutrition content of free range broilers,but had no significant effect on the physical and chemical properties of the muscle.Compared with the control group,the content of whole net carcass rate,leg muscle rate and Thick ash of leg muscle in experimental group 2 respectively improved 3.35%(P < 0.05),10.41%(P < 0.05)and 47.06%(P < 0.05),which was the highest among 4 groups,and the difference is significant.Compared with the control group,the water content of the chest muscle of the experimental group 3 significantly reduced 1.67%,which was the lowest among the groups(P < 0.05).(3)Effect of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives on immune performance of broilers:The content of serum immunoglobulin M(IgM)and complement 3(C3)of Chinese herbal medicine group were significantly different with those of control group(P<0.05).The content of IgM in 3 experimental groups respectively improved 95.45%(P<0.05),128.10%(P<0.05),108.26 %(P<0.05)compared with control group;the content of complement 3(C3)in 3 experimental groups respectively improved 30.82%(P<0.05)? 41.01%(P<0.05)?27.87%(P<0.05)compared with control group;thymus index of experimental group 1 improved 57.4% compared with the control group and became the highest of the 3 groups(P<0.05).(4)Effect of Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives on serum biochemical index and serum antioxidant index of broilers:Artemisia apiacea compound Chinese herbal medicine additives?could significantly increase the total serum protein content and serum superoxide dismutase content(SOD)(P<0.05)of broilers,which was respectively higher 12.04%(P<0.05)and 13.14%(P<0.05)than that of control group.Artemisia apiacea compound Chinese herbal medicine additives?could effectively decrease the content of serum triglyceride(P<0.05),which was lower 24.56%(P<0.05))than that of control group.Chinese herbal medicine had no significant effects on other related serum biochemical index and antioxidant index,but there was a trend of improvement.In summary,Artemisia apiacea and compound Chinese herbal medicine additives had different degrees of influence on growth performance,immunity performance and disease resistance performance of free range broilers,among which the influence of Artemisia apiacea compound Chinese herbal medicine additives?is the best.
