Salix gordejevii is an important avant-garde sand fixing plant in sandy habitats.It is the main forestation species for wind prevention,sand fixation and soil and water conservation.It has certain ecological and economic value.In this paper,Hunshandake Sandland Salix gordejevii is used as the test material.Through cutting test method,the article investigated the relationship between the length of cuttings(5cm,10 cm,15cm,20cm),age-class(1~5a),diameter class(0.4~0.9cm,1~1.5cm,1.6~2.1cm),the survival rate and growth status to obtain the suitable cuttings index of Salix gordejevii.It provides a theoretical basis for cuttage breeding of Salix gordejevii.The findings are listed as follows.(1)There were significant correlations between the length of cuttings and both the growth of root and new branches(P<0.01).The survival rate and the growth rate of 20 cm cuttings were significantly higher than those of other levels and the survival rate was85.95%.(2)There was no significant correlation between the age-class and the number of new branches and the new branch base diameter(P>0.05).There was a significant correlation with other indicators(P<0.05).The survival rate and the growth rate of 4a spikes was significantly higher than that of other age grades,up to 78.33%.(3)There was a significant correlation between the diameter of the cuttings and the growth of the root and the new branch(P<0.01).The survival rate and the growth rate of cuttings with a size of 1.0~1.5cm was significantly higher than other diameter grades,which was 71.67%.(4)There was no significant correlation between the plant sex of spiking and the root diameter,the number of new branches,the leaf area and the growth of the biomass(P>0.05).There is a significant correlation with other indicators(P<0.05).The survival rate of female cuttings was higher than that of males,reaching 61.11%.The root length,root diameter,number of new branches,leaf quantity and underground biomass were all higher than males,the other indexes were lower than males.(5)The study on the length,age grade,diameter grade and plant sex of spikes showed that the increase of subsurface biomass was significantly lower than the aboveground biomass,and the increase of leaf biomass was significantly greater than that of branch biomass.The correlation between the length of the new branch and the root length and the number of rooting roots was extremely significant(P<0.01).The growthof the root length and quantity could be estimated by the length of the new branch.In order to improve the survival rate of the cutting propagation of Salix gordejevii,it is suggested that the cuttage matrix is sandy loam,ventilated and irrigated nursery.The cuttage density should be 10cm×10cm,the cuttings are selected in the female plants,and the length is 20 cm,the age class is 4a,the diameter of 1~1.5cm as the cuttings.
