In China crop straw resources are abundant.Silage treatment can not only improve the utilization of straw,but also solve the harm of straw burning to a certain extent.At present,the application of silage technology is more and more.In this test,corn straw silage,rice straw silage and wheat straw silage as main forages were fed 3 groups of cows,to study the different effects of straw silage on growth performance and blood parameters of beef cattle,and provide scientific basis for the reasonable and efficient utilization of crop straw.Twenty-four similar body weight simmental cattles were selected in this experiment.Cattles concentrated in the same venue,were randomly divided into three groups,each group had 8 duplicates.Cattles were fed corn straw silage(group I),rice straw silage(group II)and wheat straw silage(group III).Before the formal trial,there was a 10-day adaptation diet,and the formal trial lasted for 60 d in total.The diets were TMR,and the ratio of concentrate to roughage for each stage were 50:50.During the test,the beef cattle had a single slots,free feeding and drinking water.Two times were fed at 6:30 and 17:30 each day,and the management conditions of all the experimental cattle were the same.The results of the test were as follows:(1)In the sixtieth day,the total weight gain of the test group II was the highest(34.38kg).The total weight gain of group I and group III was 30.00 kg and 27.17 kg respectively.The daily gain of test group II was 572.92 g,the daily gain of test group I and test III group were 500.00 g and 452.90 g,but there was no significant difference among the three groups(P> 0.05).The body height of group I and group II was significantly higher than that of group III(P < 0.05).The waist height and body length of test group III were significantly less than that of test group II(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference between test group I and group III(P >0.05).There was no significant difference in chest circumference among three groups(P > 0.05).The chest circumference index of group III was significantly higher than that of group II(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference between group I and group I(P > 0.05),and there was no significant difference between fattening index and body length index(P > 0.05).The results showed that There was no significant difference between rice straw,corn straw silage and wheat straw silage in weight gain of beef cattle,and different straw silage had different effects on body size indexes.(2)In the sixtieth day,Total protein,globulin,glucose,triglyceride,growth hormone,SOD,MDA and GSH-Px in group II,was higher than that of groups I and III.In group II,triglyceride was significantly higher than that of group I(P < 0.05),no significant differences in other components(P > 0.05).The albumin and IGF-1 in group I were higher than those in groups II and III,but no significant difference(P > 0.05).The results showed that feeding rice straw silage,corn straw silage and wheat straw silage had no significant difference in blood biochemical indexes,growth hormone level and antioxidant capacity of beef cattle.
