This experiment conducted to investigate the effects of bile acid and choline chloride on laying hens, aiming to explore the effects of bile acid on laying performance and egg quality of Hy-line brown laying hens during peak laying period, and the synergistic effects of bile acids and choline chloride on fat metabolism in Hy-line brown hens during late laying stage.A complete random test design was applied in trial 1,and a total of 240 healthy 240-days-old Hyline brown laying hens with similar body weight were randomly allocated to 4 groups with 5 replicates per group and 12 chickens per replicate with 3 chickens per cage. The control group was fed the basal diet, and the experimental group was fed the experimental diet supplemented with 250,500 and 750g/t bile acids in the basal diet. The pretest period lasted for 7 days and the experimental period last for 42 days. The feed intake and laying rate of chickens were measured during the trial period. The egg quality and blood biochemical parameters were measured at 28 d and 42 d.The results showed as follows: Dietary bile acid can increase the laying rate of Hy-line brown laying hens and improve the quality of eggs, while the average egg weight and the content of crude fat in yolk were significantly reduced by adding bile acid in the diet(P<0.05).The trial 2 was consisted of a two-way factorial design, and a total of 96 healthy 730-days-old Hyline brown laying hens with similar body weight were randomly allocated to 4 groups with 2 replicates per group and 12 chickens per replicate. The control group was fed the basal diet. The bile acid treatment group was fed the experimental diet with 500g/t bile acid supplemented in the basal diet. The choline chloride treatment group was fed the experimental diet with 2000g/t choline chloride supplemented in the basal diet. The combined supplemented group was fed experimental diet supplemented with 500g/t bile acid and 2000g/t choline chloride simultaneously. The chickens were fed according to the rearing standard of laying hens. The experimental period last for 21 days. The growth performance of each group was measured, the samples of egg, blood and liver was collected to conduct the egg quality and other indexes. The results showed as follows: the egg weight was reduced by bile acid or choline chloride only(P<0.05),this effect was abolished when adding them simultaneously. The yolk color was reduced by choline chloride(P<0.05).Egg shell thickness and the ratio of yolk to egg white trend to increase when supplemented with bile acid(P<0.1).A significant interaction was observed between the bile acid and choline chloride on egg weight and yolk color(P<0.05).The percentage of broken eggs and the percentage of sand skin eggs were reduced with the addition of bile acid in diets(P<0.05).,and could reduce the content of uric acid and triglyceride in blood and the malondialdehyde in the liver of Hy-line brown laying hens(P<0.05).To sum up,dietary bile acid can increase the laying rate of Hy-line brown laying hens and improve the quality of eggs.Adding bile acids to the diet can improve the egg quality and reduce the rate of bad eggs, and adding choline chloride could increase the level of body fat metabolism and slow down the dropping speed of eggs quality at the late stage of Hy-line brown laying hens to a certain extent.
