Investigation And Case Analysis Of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease In Yanbian Area

With the improvement of people's living standard,keeping pets has become a new way of life for people.According to the survey,the number of pet cats has increased year by year in our country.Movement and diet of cats will be restricted living indoors,and the living condition will lead to some diseases.Feline lower urinary tract disease(FLUTD)is one of the high-risk diseases that appear on cats.Clinically,FLUTD is more common as spontaneous cystitis,bacterial infection,and urolithiasis.FLUTD is the most common disease of cat feline urinary system in clinical cases,while few clinical data related to it are kept in China.This survey mainly obtained the prevalence rate of FLUTD in Yanbian area within a year.Through statistical analysis of the characteristics of sick cats,it is concluded that the prevalence of FLUTD is related to gender,sterilization,feeding condition,feeding environment and body type.The main types of FLUTD were diagnosed such as feline idiopathic cystitis(FIC),uroliths,bacterial urinary tract infection,neoplasia,urethral plug,etc.According to different types of diseases,a better solution was proposed,and comprehensive measures to prevent the disease were proposed.The scientific reference for understanding the condition of urinary tract syndrome in cats and prevention and treatment of urinary tract syndrome in cats in this area was provided.A total of 3,468 feline cases were collected in this study,including 228 cases of FLUTD.Among them,there are 87 cases of FIC,26 cases of uroliths,62 cases of bacterial urinary tract infection,3 cases of neoplasia,33 cases of urethral plug,and 17 cases of other causes.Among the 187 cases of conservative therapy,163 were cured and 11 were effective.The cure rate was 87.17%and the total effective rate was 93.05%.Among the 41 cases of surgical therapy,39 were cured and the cure rate was 95.12%.Here are the specific conditions:87 cases of FIC were treated with conservative therapy,and the cure rate was 78/87;62 cases were treated with conservative therapy for UTI,and the cure rate was 57/62;9 cases of uroliths were treated by conservative therapy,and the cure rate was 5/9;29 cases of FLUTD caused by urethral plug as well as trauma were treated by conservative therapy,and the cure rate was 23/29;17 cases of urolithiasis were treated by surgical therapy,and the cure rate was 16/17;3 cases of tumor were treated by surgery therapy,and the cure rate was 3/3;21 cases of FLUTD caused by urethral plug and trauma were treated by surgical therapy,and the cure rate was 20/21.In addition,it is worth noting that the average treatment cycle of bladder puncture catheterization in conservative therapy was 11 days,and the recurrence rate is low.The average treatment cycle of catheterization placement is 6 days,and the recurrence rate is high.The cases treated with surgical therapy were basically treated and controlled,but after surgery,the cats were faced with problems such as postoperative plucking,as well as bacterial infection caused by the shortened urethra.
