| Diaphania indica is a crucial type of pest on melon crops in China which has become a major sort of insect attacks on the melon vegetables in recent years and the phenomenon is worsening.As one of the five major planting areas for facility vegetables in China,the Yangtze River Basin is mainly planted with melon species.Until nowadays,the prevention and control of Diaphania indica in this region is still dominated by chemical methods,lacking efficiency and environmental protection.However,there is no domestic registration of pesticides for prevention and control of Diaphania indica,which causes great negative impacts on the reduction of chemical pesticides in greenhouses.To solve the problem,this paper develops key technologies of prevention and control of Diaphania indica by analyzing from three aspects: population dynamics of Diaphania indica,adult behaviors and trapping techniques,aiming at offering high-efficiency and low-toxic pesticides for preventing and treating Diaphania indica.The main results are as follow:1.Population dynamics of Diaphania indica in facility vegetable farmAccording to the researches on dynamics of the Diaphania indica in facility vegetable farm of Jingmen City,Hubei Province,the larval occurred in the period from late June to early November,the peak period is from early August to mid-September.The adult occurrence period is from mid-July to mid-November,the peak period is from mid-August to late September.2.Optimization of light trapping technique parameters for Diaphania indica adultsBy observing and analyzing the correlation between the behavioral characteristics of the adults and the rhythm of the lamp,it was found that the number of male adults were significantly higher than female adults.The male adults flied to the light throughout the scot phase,while the female adults were mainly at middle scot phase.The rhythm is highly correlated with the spawning rhythm.The accumulated percent of female adults captured in the light trap was more than 70% when the light is turned on for 6 hours.In addition,the test results showed that the sensitive wavelength for trapping adults was 365 nm.3.Determination of virulence of high-efficiency and low-toxic pesticides against Diaphania indicaThe toxicity on Diaphania indica of pesticides registered for controlling other pests on melon vegetables was evaluated by using dip method and leaf dip method.The results illustrated that ethyl spinosyn,chlorfenapyr and emamectin benzoate had good toxic effects on the eggs of Diaphania indica.Ethyl spinosyn and emamectin benzene Formate is more toxic to 2 and 5 instar larvae.The results of this study indicated that the prevention and control of Diaphania indica should be carried out from August to the mid-September by using the spinosad and emamectin benzoate to spray the middle leaves of the plant.From mid-September to late September,it is suggested to turn on the light for 6 hours after it is getting dark to trap the adults.This research provides key technologies for prevention and control of Diaphania indica,which has guiding significance for reduction of chemical pesticides in actual production. |
